Well interesting results, those who read my posts will understand I went intent on being unhappy with my team.
Truly it did not happen, well yes I did not join in the joy for Julia throng.
More on that later but that instant action on gaining total power has impressed me, and even if the first and biggest head to roll came from my faction I loved it.
I came back from country conference full of hope, and do so here after this.
Hope he means it, he has a plan, oh I understand we will not see a change in direction from media, even good things rubbished by an intent to tell voters who should rule, but maybe?
Just maybe a lessor defeat? well face it maybe unless we get an opposition a win by default?

So Belly, did they discuss Rudd's 'big Australia' policy? Or wasn't it worth discussing coz everyone agrees with it?

If it was discussed, was the dialogue centred around how to increase the population growth rate even further than the current record level, along with the overall expansion of our economy and everything that goes with it? Was there any mention of any negative factors related to this sort of policy?

Was there a single mention of sustainability??

If this stuff wasn't discussed, then what on earth did they discuss?

So presumably this discussion was centred on how to deal with the problem that Krudd has created with his weakening of border-protection policy.....oooow, I mean..that the push factors have caused and that Krudd's more 'humane' policy has nothing to do with?

I don't spose anyone dared to talk about the most important thing of all - how to get RID of Rudd ASAP, so that the Labor party can undertake some semblance of sensible governance!!

I,surely you too, am stunned by the blindness of the city bases idea Australia is an empty country waiting to see deserts bloom.
In that matter if no other, I blame over population for climate change.
But do you for a second understand both sides, both party's, are looking for a big Australia?
Insult the idea, not one side because it is now the one doing what both want to do.
Insult the idea and understand if we control our population, keep it at todays level, even reduce it, others never will.
Do you truly think we alone can make a difference?
Climate change will always be about many things, but population must be up there at the top.

Better much better, in fact while I have my doubts the invisible opposition may just have to work to win.

Well the opportunity was there to talk about NSW politics we did not take it.
Not every thread gets a kick start but I thought we could ask just why s NSW heading for an election no one cares about.
Unlike those who say I am ALP and that every thing I write should be discounted, I often find fault with my side.
If we are now on the path to a better party why has it taken so long?
Why not behead, gee if only we could, every ex parliamentarian who gets paid to convince his/her mates to pass bills.
In fact why not get every such person imprisoned if found with a bulls roar of the house?
Why can money ,anyones money any side buy favors?
We should build a special prison for criminal politicians, it could be called, the Bob Askin prison for dead beats.
Well in truth we may well be on that path I hope and think so, but we need to understand the only way from here has to be better, we are at the bottom.
By the way Ludwig just tip Rudd is not a member of NSW ALP thought you may not know.

Belly, Labor has NO balance if these all-important things weren't 'high on the agenda'.

Of course I do. That's why I keep strongly suggesting that the Libs need so urgently to change this basic philosophy and embrace sustainability and population stabilisation....and in doing so, set themselves right apart from Labor, so that the australian public has a genuine choice at the next election....and so that this country has some chance of salvation before the imbalance between the demands exerted by an ever-growing population become completely unsuppliable by an ever more seriously stressed resource base and environment.

I know you appreciate and support this sort of sustainability-oriented argument....which begs the question; how on earth can you remain within the Labor party or give them your support?

Belly, I do 'insult the idea'. The reason I lambast Rudd so much is because he and Labor are in power. If Turnbull was in power, he'd no doubt be doing the same sort of thing and uncurring my wrath to a similar extent....although I guess that he wouldn't be quite as gravely bad as Rudd.

You can criticize Labor all you want -
the fact remains the blunders of the
Libs lost them the last federal election.
And much as you may dislike the PM the
Opposition have a leader who simply can't
cut it with the public.

Even the newspapers question, "Can Turnbull
Survive?" (Insight, The Age, Saturday, Nov.14 2009).
The Age article explains that, "Turnbull had no
strong mandate from his leadership win. The right
hated him, seeing him as a trendy lefty from
Wentworth with all the wrong attitudes. Many Libs
had voted for him thinking he would lift the
opinion polls when he didn't, they were at first
surprised even disbelieving, then shocked. As the
months passed, Turnbull did not seem to have a
distinct agenda. Libs could not get a handle on
what he wanted to do; to the extent they could
work it out. Turnbull seemed to be in a different
space from many of them..."

As one Liberal MP who wants Turnbull gone told
The Age, "He is a Labor Party person in the
Liberal Party..."

The Conference sounds like it achieved something
positive and that's a good thing!

Somebody once said: "Communication is like a
Rubix Cube there are countless numbers of wrong
twists and turns, but when you get it right, it
looks perfect no matter what way you look at it."

Correcting past mistakes is a way of moving forward -
something the Libs need to learn.
