Getting rid of killers

In the lobby of a shopping centre a young man collecting for the heart fund approached me and asked, “Did you know that heart disease is our number one killer?” I answered his question with another question. “What do you think should be our number one killer?” He didn’t answer. In our society no one dies naturally. There always has to be a cause of death on the death certificate. Something kills us. Actually, I prefer heart disease to be our number killer. It seems preferable to cancer, war, motor neurone disease or other candidates I can think of.

People arguing against abortion sometimes point out the possibility of aborting another Einstein, Newton or Mozart. However, serial murderers are much more common than Einsteins, Newtons and Mozarts. There are very good arguments against abortion, but that is not a good one. Abortion may be getting rid of a killer.

For my cause of death I prefer to have a heart attack finish me off quickly with no previous symptoms.

Although I much prefer Einstein, Newton and Mozart to serial killers I expect we will continue to have more serial killers than people of the calibre of Einstein, Newton and Mozart.

my thoughts more on that of murder...as in.. killing off killers...for egsample...so thats where todays rave expounds its thought forms..into words...

spiritually speaking...we are spirits having an incarnate life experience...just as..here...we murder killers...sending them to the next realms...so too do the next realms shuttle off their vile spirits..to the next realm...gradulally falling lower..

to arrive back here with a life sentance..in the body form we earned...that when this gifted life containment vessel..is served in full...and served with love...enable..the freed spirit to arise..[as far as the stars]...

but these thoughts are divergent from the bellies

so leave the word prints behind me...

reveal who has the faith of one mustard seed..

I'm not sure I understand your point...
Death certificates require primary causes for death. Current classifications are simply a function of our better knowledge and data (statistics) collecting. The reasons are simply a enhancement of 'natural causes' of the pre 1960's
The other concern is that there is a big difference between heart failure due to "natural causes" i.e. my 89 yo father in law in reality died of "gobblygook ...multiple organ failure (old age) and the 57 yo neighbour's "Heart disease" which was due to the fat around his heart (obesity and lack of activity too much beer etc).

Also consider that heart research also covers heart defects like leaking valves and a myriad of other naturally occurring heart dysfunctions which have nothing to do with the cause of the neighbour's 'lifestyle induced' 'sudden/premature' (sic) death.

By the way heart attacks by way of 'natural' dysfunctions and disease are not always immediately fatal and are horribly painful.

If I had a choice I'd prefer to 'just drift of in my sleep or be euthanaised . Than suffer the issues I've seen in those who suffered the heart problems that lead to death.

sooner or later. Most of us prefer - later.
I go to the gym at least three times a week -
because I'm obsessed with keeping my heart in
good 'working order.'

My father died suddenly of a cardiac arrest at
the age of 52 - he wasn't over weight (rode a
bicylce to work) - and had
no history of a heart condition. It was like
being struck by lightning.

And, I've obsessed with 'staying fit,' ever since.

My preference to go - when my times up - would be
to die in my sleep. But I guess the choice - won't
be mine to make. Or maybe it will? Who knows what
my future holds?

I believe in research though - concerning illnesses
like cancer, heart disease, diabetes, to name just
a few - the more
we learn about these 'killers,' the better equipped
and prepared that makes us in dealing with them.
Preventitive measures must surely be a step in the
right direction - and they only become available
to us through research and education? A person's
lifestyle can have serious repercussions on their

I favour heart research and know that heart disease may be disabling and extremely painful.

Your father died a ‘natural’ death since he did not shorten his life by overindulgence and neglect. However, the death certificate does not differentiate. Death is treated as something unnatural partly due to the influence of Christianity.

Part of my point is facing death. Many regard death as unnatural although it happens to everyone. The myth of the Fall of Man that some use to interpret the Genesis account of ‘Primal Sin’ has death entering the world as a consequence of the sin of Adam and Eve. The New Testament contains Romans 6: 23: "The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."

The above is nonsense. Death is a natural part of life. The wages of life is death. If the wages of sin were death then little babies incapable of committing sin would not die. The doctrine of Original Sin makes even innocent babes guilty of sin. That is more nonsense. It has generated a great deal of neurotic guilt, as humans can feel guilty just for having been born. Birth like death happens to all of us and, like death, is a natural process.

Eternal life is another denial of death. There is absolutely no evidence for it, but Christianity postulates that if one believes in certain unprovable propositions then one lives forever.

Kevin Andrews authored the Euthanasia Laws Bill 1996 to overrule Northern Territory legislation that legalised euthanasia (the Rights of the Terminally Ill Act 1995). It is one of only fifteen Private Member's Bills passed into law in Australian parliamentary history.

Although the vote on the bill was supposedly a conscience vote parliamentarians knew that Prime Minister Howard and Opposition Leader Beazley favoured it.

I'd like to see voluntary euthanasia legalised.

Actually, the greatest -or worst- cause of death world wide, is gastro-enteritis.
Personally, I find that statistic extremely depressing.
