I had fluoride as a child. I am sure that I have lots of fissures and regularly eat sweet foods. I have had no problems with my teeth (apart from tartar build up). Dentists always ask me if I had fluoride as a child. When I say yes they give an approving nod. At my most recent attendance a comment was made along the lines that a hole couldn't be put in my teeth if I wanted one.
Perhaps the responses of dentists to my situation has propagandised me but I attribute my good fortune to the fluoride tablets I was given with my breakfast as a child.
