Genocide is a highly specific term. If you use it in the context of low reproduction rates, it becomes devalued.

Calling a society's choice to produce fewer children "genocide" belittles the fate of Rwanda's Tutsis, or Bosnian Muslims in Srebrenica, or the one-and-a-half million victims of Pol Pot.

Here's the United Nations' definition.

"Genocide means any of the following acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group, as such:
(a) Killing members of the group;
(b) Causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group;
(c) Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part;
(d) Imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group;
(e) Forcibly transferring children of the group to another group."

I know that you love drama, Boaz, and try to create it wherever you go.

But debasing the concept of genocide is a step too far, in my view.

Hey guys, they taught me in s*x education classes that births come about because men AND (do you like the shout Boaz?) women do something together.

Have I missed something here? Or are Truth, Polycarp and runner putting in a joint bid for a gig at next year's Comedy Festival?

Yeah, those pesky feminists engineered everything so young breeders reorganised their priorities. Feminists promoted flat screens, white goods, flash cars, expensive accessories and pointless luxuries so breeders would want them more than they wanted kids.

Feminists starved the public education system so having kids now involves the expense of private education, and they insisted responsible parenting involves owning at least two Taragos and a five bathroom home.

Feminists deregulated the economy and put an end to lifelong job security. They made potential breeders wary of the future by developing nuclear weapons, climate change and most recently a massive recession. They also put a man on the moon, discouraging potential breeders in case they had girls who would not be going to the moon.

Boazy no-one said anything about dying out. The point is we have done more than replacement in the last 100 years - we have become overpopulated. I can't believe that you would think those advocating some population restraint are actually promoting the demise of the species through 'passive genocide'. Please be realistic.
