as an avid reader I see Truth as an unchangable concept being chalenged by every body . In my belief system Truth is not subject changing circumstances But is static the same yesterday ,today and forever . I got quite excited while watching christian T.V. when it was reported that a new car is being developed in India running on compressed air for a cost of around $19000 U.S. per unit .
Specs : 4 & 6 seater
800 Km range per refill
Top speed 90 kms per hour
Once again validating genesis which says "nothing will be restrained from them [mankind],which theh have imagined to do".
Chalanges bring out the very best in mankind and these are very chalanging times

Hi Richie
Isn' Truth an arbitrary concept when it comes to 'belief'. Truth and belief are not the same thing.

If you steal a lolly and someone asks you if you stole the lolly and you say yes I did, that is a simple truth.

But if someone asks 20 people of varying faiths what is the Truth - you will get 20 different answers. And all 20 will believe that their Truth is "the" only Truth.

Once upon a time it was considered that women who were thought to be witches (probably because they didn't kowtow to men or they mixed a few herbs into a poultice) would sink if thrown tied-up into a raging river - and if they were not witches God would save them and they would float to safety (I don't know the exact details). This was seen as the Truth.

In this case it could be argued that Truth is changeable depending on who has defined the rules that govern validity.

Hi Richie 10.

If they havent got Gods Word they wont know what truth is anyway.

They will drift this way and that, pick up this theory or that (like many did on my Genesis account thread...they follow what other drifting men give to them as food) and just become flotsam on the 'currents' of life.
They will be at satans call and in time because of their drifting will accept even the coming Antichrist.
I wish you well with the thread.
Many here appear fresh out of highschool...all cocky with little determination.
Followers not leaders.

A dose of the Holy Bible would, of course, change them and set them free of others theories and make them Sons of God and independent of the world and the need to camp follow:)

Truth is subject to everyone's own interpretations.

Some people believe what they are told.
Religious people fall into this category.

When I was growing up, we were told that only
Catholics went to heaven. I believed it at the time.

Last night I was watching the news on television,
and heard that the mother of one of the Bali
bombers thought that her son had done the right
thing. Her "truth" was that "infidels" did not
pray, therefore deserved to die.

I remember in our Psychology 1 class at uni, the
teacher organised an incident in class, where we
had to then write down what we had witnessed.
There were 25 students in the class with 25
different versions of what they thought they had
seen. Each convinced they were telling the "truth."

Truth is the opposite to falsehood. It is supposed to
be a verified or indisputable fact. However, it is not something
that is set in concrete. As we gain access to new information
our knowledge of the truth changes with time. Its part
of our development and growth as human beings.

Truth is the true north referance point for the journey in life and without a compass or the ability to sail by the stars life is one long accident . Just along for the ride hoping you will be luckey ,a derivative from the word Lucifer , with no idea where you are going and not shipwrecked along the way. There is 2 responses to this post.

I have lived long enough to know without benchmarks there is no truth . Map making and serveying will tell you that
