OZ Defence got run down over decades (so rundown I thought "hey, thats almost deliberate") and its still poor... even 3rd world considering all we have built and all we have to lose. We need to be independent of the USA unless she's not there one day to protect the younger brother.
If we could do that scattered citizens home guard army...print for it, train it up, equip it, like Switzerland, we would be in a safer position against the armies that hover above us.
Steven L Meyer reckons we need nukes as a deterent? He could be right. Without a capacity to deliver though, all of the way even to China, nukes wouldnt be a great help. As Steel Mann suggests the enemy is already here. Islam quietly moves through the burbs slowly securing her power bases. China has her spies here, too many to watch. Bit by bit we're losing it anyway.
