Presently in Australia we have a dichotomy of economies.Western Australian and Queensland economies are booming and the Reserve Bank needs to increase rates to stem inflation.NSW economy is the highest geared with the most expensive property prices in the country.Just small increase will see many go the wall.NSW is on the verge of recession and Morris brags about a lousy billion dollar surplus?

In the last two years we have seen unemployment in some Western Sydney electorates almost doubled.The Iemma Govt is consumed with surpluses at the expense of destroying business growth,which is the very foundation of their tax base.

What an irony it will be if we see a Federal Labor Party returned because of their total incompetence at a state level.Will our no talent Federal Labor give us once again,"The recession we had to have?

Arjay, do you really think that Kim Beazley can win given his track record? Labor does not seem to have a policy on anything and when they do come up with one it is something bizarre like getting tourists to sign "value statements"(before they quickly adjust it to exclude tourists). I think Labor also has the problem that they dominate at a state level and most voters like to see some balance to politics in the country. This helps the Liberal Party at a national level.

The whole country is riding off the resources boom. Neither the states or the federal government are good "economic" managers, just a bunch of clowns. Western Australia and Queensland are lucky they had resources under the ground.

Nothing has been done about long term infrastructure investment, investment in education(the skills shortage largely one of the federal governments making) or investment in R & D. When the boom ends (and it will), all the states and the feds are in for a major shock... the collective result of their grand imcompetance.

Morris will win in NSW, because the opposition are extreme right wing hacks. Brogden would have beat NSW Labor, unfortunately he left, and he was replaced with a branch stacking idiot. Never forgot the NSW Liberals ability to grasp defeat from the jaws of victory.

Matt it is not a matter of ability of Federal Labor but one of reaction in all the marginal electorates in Sydney.Voters don't discriminate when they are hurt by interest rate rises.If Western Sydney had a more buoyant economy ,they would be able to cope with mortage repayments.

If we in NSW re-elect Labor,then we are sending a very poor message to all pollies,ie They can have atrocious governance without any real electoral consequences.NSW Labor should be punished severly so all public servants and pollies get the message.

If you don't like Peter Debnam's Party,then vote for an independant you do like.Our complacency will only be further rewarded with more incompetence.

I believe Labor this time is keeping a few tricks up its sleeve.

Surely IR cant be the only ace its holding.

It is said generally on another forum that Labor can win and has other issues that will be revealed closer to the election.

On the telly, the PM is given two minutes to air his opinion.
The two Labor roosters Rudd and Swan are given to much lecturing on how wrong Howard is getting EVERYTHING! They just cannot seem to help themselves, I fear one day in their clucking frenzy, one if not both will lay a large egg.
Mr Beazely orates, he orates and orates about how wrong Howard is about EVERYTHING. One day I fear his head may just fall off.
Kerry Nettles nettles on and on about how wrong Howard is about EVERYTHING!

I think the Labor Party is Howards greatest asset.
