How does Australia stack up as a racist country;

Reports from the Australian Human Rights Commission highlight that structural and interpersonal racism are deeply entrenched in various sectors of Australian society, including universities and workplaces.

On the positive side;

More than 350 languages are spoken across the country, and large majorities of Australians express support for multiculturalism and value Indigenous cultures as a core part of the national identity

Overt institutional policies from Australia's past—such as the White Australia Policy—have been dismantled, and laws like the Racial Discrimination Act 1975 make racial vilification and discrimination illegal.

I don't think Australians are overwhelmingly racists, but there is a high degree of prejudice and suspicion within society against those who are perceived as "different"

Of course colonialism didn't play its part in all this. In your world view it was a free choice by African nations, which were established by the colonial powers carving up the continent, to be dysfunctional. When the colonisers such as Britain left Africa, they left behind a well educated population, a stable political and legal system, massive infrastructure, industrialisation, a fantastic health system, socially coherent societies etc etc. Mate, you're gotta be joking!

Angus Taylor has repeated his idiotic idea to link future immigration levels to the number of houses being built each year.

The numbers should be linked only to the number needed by Australia. Immigration is supposed to be for the good of Australia only, not immigrants and housing them. It is already impossible to build enough houses for the people already here, such is the bloody awful mess engineered by the bloody awful Albanese government.

On another issue – I am truly stunned by the number of people on this forum who are triggered by what others wear. I feel empowered and justified now, to abuse any Australian man with Scottish heritage who dares to wear a kilt (i.e. dress) because he is proud of his Scottish heritage.
