I know where you are coming from, and I can see why Nyadol Nyuon would not be a Pauline pin-up type with the old white Anglo-Saxon Celtic, Gaelic, Morris dancing, Haggis eating scotch guzzling clan. BUT she claimed she had been discriminated against for her difference, and I can see how different she is from the aforementioned fellas. I though the old cow cocky John Anderson was a patronising, but kind racist. There are far more dangerous people in society than the mouthy lady from Africa.

The idea that we are accepting of everyone, particularly those that look and act like us, and we reject anyone who doesn't fit our perfect mould, is true.

I don't know what gets into some people Paul, coming here and wearing her fancy African style clothes, what does this woman think Australia was? Africa?

"wearing her fancy African style clothes" I suppose since she was going on telly, she wanted to dress up for the occasion. I didn't think she would wear her grunge gear, in fact none of the contestants did. How does ones dress offend another, seems the young ladies dress at St Johns Cathedral last week offended some of the parishioners, (the women) short dresses with plenty of cleavage, caused heart palpitations and googly eyed syndrome in the Old Fart Anglo Saxon Celtic etc etc congo men.

How does your dress, what you eat, who you pray to, what lingo you speak, it doesn't offend me. If its your custom to take a blunt stick and poke me in the eye then I'm offended. I can’t help but think of this statement over and over. I can’t help but to question it.

“… or just shut up…” Why should they shut up? After all, the dis-honourable Poorlean has been complaining and bitching for 30 years. Is it only Australian citizens who are allowed to complain about things? Is the only condition of being granted a visa that you must shut up, accept the status quo and don’t wish for (or try to) make things better?
