Hi AC,

What a joke from Hanson, "the Socceroos demonstrate monoculteralism". If Hanson had her way there would be no Socceroos, from the coach Tony Popovic, a son of Serbian migrants to the majority of the team who are the children of migrants, or were born overseas, Milos Degenek (born in Croatia), Nestory Irankunda (born in Tanzania to Burundian refugee parents), Awer Mabil (born in a refugee camp in Kenya to South Sudanese parents). These are the type of people Hanson wants excluded from Australia, not representing Australia. And of course there would be no SBS to watch the World Cup on. As for playing outside of the Anglo-sphere, countries like Egypt, Muslims no way!, as Hanson has said "There is no such thing as a good Muslim." why would we play soccer with them?

The next election is two years away. Calm down and stop fretting that people you disagree with might win. There's plenty of time for that when the election is closer.

One Nation is currently riding high because they are espousing policies that a plurality agree with. But both major parties are realising that this plurality have some say in things like immigration whereas in the past, by adopting a bipartisan position not actually approved of by the majority, the popular view was sidelined. One Nation stepped into that gap.

But the majors, for whom power is more important than policy, have already started to adjust their 'principles' to accommodation the new reality that One Nation created.

Two years is a long time for the full force of the power structure - the majors, the media, the unions and big business etc - to unite to fend off the One Nation threat to their power.

"What amuses me is people who are like 'Those damn Chinese mistreat the Uighurs!'
Next minute the same people say, 'We need to get rid of these damn Muslims!'"

There's a massive difference between a society or group that says they reject Muhammadian attitudes and don't want it for their culture as happens here and a society (or political party - CCP) that says we reject Mohammadian and we intend to wipe that culture off the face of the earth.

The Chinese are perpetrating genocide against the Muslim Uighurs whereas we are just saying Islam isn't for us. I wonder if you can see the difference.

""the Socceroos demonstrate monoculteralism". "

If you understood what monoculturalism is, you'd understand that what Hanson said is correct. But I see that you are determined to not understand monoculturalism so the truth of it will continue to go over your head.

Hi Trumpster,

"PLEASE EXPLAIN!" as your dear lady would say. Other than the word "mono" meaning one, its difficult to define how in a country as diverse in cultures as Australia is through immigration could possibly exists as a singular culture, without embracing aspects of other cultures that migrants bring with them on arrival.

What people believe as "values" is being confused with culture. Its not a value to speak English, its part of ones culture. To expect a person whose primary language is something other, to excursively speak English is unreasonable, on the grounds that speaking English is the only acceptable language within the new monoculture. Just as unreasonable is to expect migrants who have grown up with some benign different cultural norms, such as food and dress etc, to entirely abandon those ways, and conform to what is the standard established within the new monoculture, meat pies and thongs, I don't know.

Hanson made a point of saying 23% of people speak a language other than English in their home. I perceived from that, that Hanson has a problem with language, and desired that all should excursively speak English. WHY?

You still don't get it, poor old Paul. She didn't talk about the Socceroos being monocultural, she talked about them displaying monocultural-ISM. I explained the difference in an earlier thread, but clearly you didn't get it then and remain determined to not get it now.
