Not that the facts matter to Paul, but the proceeds of the sale of Venezuelan oil go to Venezuela. But the US does ensure that the money is used for the benefit of the Venezuelan people rather than the Venezuelan leadership group. Also the Venezuelan oil is sold at full market price rather than the discounted price the Chinese used to buy it at.

I can't help but think that that's the main reason Paul wants to misrepresent the process.... that the CCP that Paul so admires is forced to pay the Venezuelan people full price rather than pay the communist Venezuelan leaders a discounted price.

The Trump administration has taken control of Venezuela's oil infrastructure, with the US Treasury "managing" oil proceeds. Trump has stated he would control the money generated from Venezuelan oil sales. This is the same bloke, who wanted a deal with the Iranians for a cut of toll money, placed bets on how many Iranians America would kill, and when!
