Has the introduction of "Hate Laws" also sent a clear message to police, that violent suppression of free speech, that is those citizens having dissenting views, and wishing to express them in the form of public protest, the new order of the day to the police is suppress any contrary opinions, that don't fit the new narrative. It was made clear at Monday nights Sydney protest against the state visit of the Israel's President Isaac Herzog, that "unauthorised" dissent won't be tolerated, and the police have been given carte blanche authority to deal with dissenters! Protesters have accused NSW Police of assaulting members of the public, saying police met them with "sickening state violence", which from filmed evidence would seem to be the case.

Naturally the new arbitrators of free speech, hard right politicians, violent coppers and far right commentators, will defend the actions of police, as most necessary in the name of law and order!
