Dutton is definitely more wise than Abbott because al he has to do is rewind watch where Abbott failed, in the common sense & logic department. Abbott had Australia handed on a plate & he tossed it out with the dishwashing !
What makes Dutton automatically a more sensible bloke is the fact that he was not indoctrinated at Uni, he experienced real World stuff in the Police Service.
Abbott was simply educated, Dutton is smart & wise. I just hope Dutton lets natural attrition to its job rather than let incompetent bureaucrats hire more incompetent bureaucrats.
