Dear Critic,

«And I told you, they're prisoners of war not hostages anyway.»

Hmmm, including one and four year old children and men over 80...

May your prayers be answered - the Geneva convention contains certain standards regarding prisoners of war, it would indeed be great if those were met!

«Netanyahu himself doesn't care about the hostages he murdered hundreds himself on Oct 7 with the Hannibal directive and his killed quite a few since with botched rescue attempts»

A few, yes, not hundreds.

I agree he doesn't care.
Had Moshe Butbul (Sarah Netanyahu's hairdresser) been among the hostages, rather than mostly-Leftist Kibbutz members who wouldn't vote for him anyway, then it would have been a very different story.

Hmmm, including one and four year old children and men over 80...

- I wasn't choosing the targets,
it's not my circus and Hamas are not my monkeys

But I think there's a line of commonality there.
You take our people, we take yours.
You take our children, we'll take your parents.

You kill or imprison kids without charge (hostage taking)
Torture and kill them in prisons, well my word there will be a response alright.

"A few, yes, not hundreds."
No, I disagree, Oct 7 Israel killed hundreds of its own civilians.
Israeli Apache AH-64 gunships lit up hundreds of car trying to leave that music festival, IDF feared Hamas was moving towards another military base, but what they did was kills hundreds of civillians trying to escape, which wasn't a big issue because they were trained that it was better to kill the civilians rather than have them captured by the enemy.

There were hundreds of cars all burned out, Israel later buried the lot to hide evidence that they had done it.

Not only that I still think Netanyahu knew of the attack and allowed it to happen. It was a good 6 hours before there was any response at all, the level of security along the wall had been diminished on the 50th anniversary of the Yom Kippur war. We know the Egyptians warned the Israelis that there was increased chance of attack in advance, and we even know about a group of female IDF who warned their superiors themselves but were ignored.

" I'm sorry did you expect the only people willing to risk their lives to help the Palestinians would also be willing to betray those said Palestinians so themselves and their fellow UN colleagues would get bombed?"

Finally AC admits that the UNWRA is a wholly owned subsidiary of Hamas. It has to be said of AC that even though he gets there kicking and screaming, he does more often than not begrudgingly arrive at something approaching the truth. And as soon as he realises it, he runs in the opposite direction. Watch.

"And FYI, not much of a ceasefire, attacks in West Bank continuing."

For goodness knows how long, AC whined that we needed a ceasefire so as to stop the killing in Gaza. Trump delivers it and AC can't wait to change his demand. Of course, what was obvious to all bar AC, he never wanted a ceasefire, he wanted an Israeli surrender. His avowed concern for the lives of the Gazans was a mere ruse.

Dear Critic,

Netanyahu is only a prime-minister, not God,
so no, even though he likely wanted to, he couldn't get away with murdering 100's of Israelis without being noticed: no, he could not order the Apache pilots directly in person to kill Israelis without their comrades and superiors noticing.

Yoav Gallant, former defence minister who was recently sacked, now reveals many new nasty things about Netanyahu's behaviour on October 7th, but this is not one of them.

You say the he "knew of the attack and allowed it to happen"
- I have reason (but no direct evidence) to believe that he likely even initiated October 7th, through his friend and subcontractor, Yahya Sinwar.

The Hannibal procedure, though, is illegal in Israel, for many years.
Israel's high court found that while it may be OK in certain extreme circumstances to ENDANGER kidnapped soldiers, it is not OK to murder them or even shoot in their direction when the balance of probabilities is that they be injured or killed.

The Hannibal procedure did not apply to civilians to begin with.

The IDF chief of staff therefore banned this procedure in 2016 and no Apache pilot could get away with it without being noticed by his fellow Apache pilots and the whole chain of command. They obviously could not be trained to do it either.

Most cars in the Nova festival, were hit by anti-tank RPG missiles as their passengers tried to escape. They were not travelling in the direction of Gaza anyway, but in the opposite direction.

«You take our people, we take yours.»

Israel did not take any Gazan people prior to October 7th, neither adults nor children.

The irony is that most of the civilians murdered and taken hostage by Hamas on October 7th 2023, were Kibbutz members and free-spirit music lovers who therefore opposed the Israeli occupation of the West Bank and the ill treatment of its Arab population by Jewish settlers. Netanyahu was more than happy to get rid of them.

Yuyutsu,

Netanyahu might have been more than happy to get rid
of them. However, he certainly used it to Israel's advantage
as an excuse for relentless air-strikes, bombings, and
blockades.

Dear Foxy,

«However, he certainly used it to Israel's advantage
as an excuse for relentless air-strikes, bombings, and
blockades.»

What possible advantage does Israel have from bombing, etc?

In the long term, nobody ever advantages from hurting others.

In the medium term, the Jewish settlers advantage from being overlooked under the cover of the Gaza war and allowed to meanwhile kill and chase away more Arabs in the West Bank then take over their land.

In the short term, Netanyahu has the advantage of staying in power and out of jail.

Other than that, no other Israeli has any advantage, certainly not those murdered and killed, the wounded, the kidnapped hostages, the bereaved, nor those who had their home and/or business burned down or damaged by rockets, those who still cannot return to their homes, those forcibly called to the army for reserve duty thereby seeing their commanders over the last year more than their young families, those of them who were not physically hurt but mentally scarred, those ruined economically by the war, those uninvolved directly whose taxes gone over the roof to pay for the war, even uninvolved Jews around the world who are now afraid to leave home in fear of anti-Semitic attacks.

No, nobody gains from war, killing and destruction, yet Netanyahu never cared about any of the above when he started the war.
