Heard on the radio that the Democrats are wondering why the trump campaign was so successful. Are they really so out of touch that they can't see that they handed the election win to Trump simply with their performance in Govt ?

Apart from his superior campaign, some of the other reasons Trump won are:

The economy
Borders
Weaponisation of the justice system
Censorship
Abortion
Transgenderism
Hoaxes about him
Election fraud in the past.

This is talking woke self-hatred to an extreme.

There is a fleshy, succulent garden plant called a Schlumbergera, misnamed but generally called zygo cactus. Its most commonly used name is Christmas cactus. But, some virtue-signalling garden writer has re-named it Holiday cactus to spare the feelings of Muslims.

Nothing to do with Trump and why he was elected, you might think; but it is. This sort of woke shite, fiddling with the English language because it might offend some other culture is part and parcel of the crap that is finally putting people against the loony Left.

Among the Democrat slurs about Trump was the ubiquitous Hitler one. Harris used it many times. However, one remark I saw this morning was, “If Trump really were the Nazi they claimed, surely the Democrats would have found a better candidate than Harris”.

But, of course, the Democrats have moved so far to the Left that nothing better was available.

The person who made that remark’ Strategic Analysis Australia's Peter Jennings’, had other things to say: we have strong ties with the US no matter who is President, and we are valued by America as a good ally (no mention of our failure to help out against the Houthis).

But President Trump might have something to say about the dangerous weakness of our defence. He likes other countries hanging onto America's coattails to do something to help themselves.

The US ambassador has politely suggested that Australia needs to pull its finger out.

We are too slow on AUKUS activities; we are not spending enough on defence; we are not recruiting; we have dumped a $7bn contract with America’s Lockheed Martin for secure defence satellite communications; we have a single operational submarine; we don't have enough surface vessels.

As Jennings says, the only growth in defence has been in the “numbers of generals and senior public servants”. Defence is in “managed decline”.

“Trump will want to know what we are doing about security right now” - not some time in the future.

I agree with most comment, Trump was going to win when we got more than
enough of the laughing jackass.
It became obvious, even to someone like me, that she did not have a clue.
I was hoping that Trump would win because I thought he might put Iran in its place.
Just read a report that he is going to put sanctions on its oil sales.
Even to the extent of sanctions on ports that accept Iranian oil.
That was the sort of thing I was hoping to see.
He boasted once he would end the Ukranian war in one day !
I think that might be a bridge too far.

It does seem that woke has had its day and the polling critics think
that men have revolted. Perhaps we can take a lesson ourselves.
