Some interesting commentary:
"Voters have been patient; they’ve given the Albanese government plenty of latitude since the May 2022 election and are starting to push back against an administration obsessed with slogans, image and identity politics (“Voters begin to voice their disapproval of PM: Newspoll”, 6/11). Labor seems more interested in a turf war with the Greens than governing for working families in the outer suburbs and regions.
The geopolitical landscape has shifted and the referendum result should be a reality check for Labor. The things that matter include the cost of living, reliable and affordable energy, and a housing crisis compounded by a massive surge in immigration. Anthony Albanese’s ongoing photo ops at festivals, along with the time, effort and money spent on the referendum, are starting to grate."
Albo has broken his most important promises that relate to the cost of living, inflation interest rates and housing. As indicated above, Australia has gone backwards more than most OECD countries in the standard of living over the last year. Albozo needs to focus on voters' priorities and stop acting like a teenage girl.
