Foxy,

It is almost an axiom that the back pocket holds the greatest sway over voters. 50% of voters feel financially worse off under this government and only 16% feel better off so labor is in a really bad place especially as it is hard to fix in 18 months. If anyone in Labor is not panicking they should be.

As for Abbott, his tenure was roughly that of Krudd and Juliar, and Albozo may yet not make it that far.

Shadow Minister,

What saves political parties is their ability to adapt.
But the Liberal Party doesn't seem to want to do that.
They're stuck in a time-warp. Hence, I think that
we'll see a terminal decline unless there is a change
of leadership with new blood and ideas.

The Liberal Party has always been a weird party. An
amalgamation of various groups bound together by
their opposition to Labor but having very little else
in common.

Many of the traditional voters no longer trust the
Party and are searching for new political actors
who can better represent their interests. We saw this
with the wave of Independents at the last election.

Both parties have to lift their game come next election.

My electorate is a safe Liberal seat here in Melbourne.
And our federal MP is actually fantastic. No complaints.
He works hard and actually listens to his constituents.
He's always readily available. We need more like him.

Foxy,

Adaptability is important to survival, however, to be adaptable one needs to be able to recognise where change is happening and react accordingly. Albozo failed to listen to voters concerning the voice and as a result got thrashed at the polls losing a lot of credibility. Similarly the release of the detainees was handled very badly and Labor was caught lying about it.

The inflation/cost of living crisis has been building for 18 months yet Labor was caught with their pants down when the inevitable voter reaction occurred. Now we have illegal boats starting again and Labor's response is to ignore it and hope it goes away.

If Labor can change it is hiding it well.

Shadow Minister,

The Prime Minister and his government has adapted very
well. The fact that the Voice failed was something
that was beyond his control. He kept his election
promise to our First Nations people which he considered
more important.

As for the High Court Ruling regarding the detainees?
As Prime Minister he must act according to the laws
passed, However, this matter is by no means over
and things are looking up. Too early to judge just yet.

Foxy,

The "voice" failure was entirely Albozo's fault. From the moment the idiot refused to compromise with the Coalition it was doomed. The $450m wasted on the campaign was a monument to arrogance and incompetence.

As far as releasing sex predators onto the streets, it's been shown that it was entirely possible to use preventative detention to hold these criminals until new legislation was passed. Another own goal.

Hi Foxy,

Compromise with the Noalition, is like compromising with a rattle snake on how many times it going to bite you. On the Voice, the Noalition weren't so long ago, their forebears that is, were kicking heads off aboriginal babies for sport, why would today's mob want to talk to them?
