I should have realised just how disinterested OLO posters are in the real threats we are facing. I can only hope that that real people out there have more intelligence.

In the meantime, I have written to all SA Senators and the local member, with my opinions. You clowns just stay anonymous, gutless and pointless, and suck up what's coming. You deserve it.

I had already registered with the site.

This legislation is truly horrific but not at all unexpected from this government. OTOH, I have some doubts as to whether thing would look any different if the other side were in power.

And it is all about power. Increasingly governments, medical authorities and other elite institutions are seeing their unfettered authority challenged and they don't like it. If the government and its hangers-on say the GBR is in danger and needs gigantic levels of funding thrown at it, the last thing they want is knowledgeable refutation of that. In the past, the preferred solution to dissenting views was to argue it out. But now the authorities just want the dissenters to be forcibly silenced.

Remember that during the great WuFlu scare, governments were actively and constantly advising that the vaccine would prevent people from getting the dreaded virus. They were actively and constantly lying and some dissenting voices were able to make that point. But if this legislation were in place, those voices would have been silenced. And they would still be silenced even as we learn that the vaccine not only doesn't do what was claimed, but that the dangers are significantly greater than admitted. All would be treated as misinformation and suppressed.

Its all very Orwellian, even worse because they claim, and probably half-believe, that it is being done for our own good. It's not. It's being done in the name of advancing lies. After all, if the so-called misinformation were indeed wrong, they could and should be able to demonstrate that. They couldn't demonstrate it with the vaccines or the GBR and so just want the other voices suppressed.

What dills like Paul with his 'ALP uber alles' attitude fail to realise is that these measures don't just work one one. Eventually other parties will be in power who will turn the legislation against those who currently cheer for it. T'was always thus.

The MSM, that spread all the government lies about Covid and vaccines, will still be able to spread real misinformation and disinformation on behalf of the same lying politicians and scientists. Only the government would be able to judge what is true and what is not. Labor or Liberal: it makes no difference. Neither is frightened of the electorate anymore because Australians are such weak, cowardly people.

A gentleman by the name of Philip Mobbs has apparently launched on Facebook and a webpage something called 'Constitutional Equality'. I don't do Facebook, and I'm chockers with websites, so I'm relying on an article by David Barton in Quadrant Online.

Not unexpectedly, a critter called John Paul Janke popped up on the ABC's 'Insiders' with a yarn that Mr. Mobbs was using Artificial Intelligence with "black (is there another kind) Indigenous characters to try to look like it's an indigenous person supporting the No campaign".

The Janke person is apparently unaware that there are many indigenous people, including Senator Jacinta Price and the high profile Warren Mundine doing just that.

ABC activist, David Speers willingly took the bait, squealing, "Crikey!". Then an accepting "OK" as Janke talked more bollocks.

And guess what? Albanese "chipped in" somewhere along the line and declared 'Constitutional Equality' content to be MISINFORMATION.

Does anyone really want Australian control-obsessed politicians deciding what we can say? Yes. They do!

Since all this crap courtesy of the ABC, Facebook book has been practising for when it has to censor on behalf of the government, and cut
Mr. Mobbs spending on 'Constitutional Equality' by 87%.

That'll disabuse him of any silly thoughts that he can exercise freedom of speech in the People's Republic of Australia!

Facebook censorship has also seen a 91% drop in engagement with 'Constitutional Equality'.

Who needs this Bill? Freedom of speech is already rooted in the PRA. Too much kowtowing with the PRC, perhaps?

In what must be a shock for the Labor/Liberal establishment, our new Human Rights Commissioner seems to have her head screwed on the right way - unlike previous Commissioners.

HR Commissioner, Lorraine Finlay, has "grave concerns" about the Bill:

. The broad terms of disinformation and misinformation and harm are too vague. There should be clear definitions - but there are none.

. The gobbledygook about vague misinformation or disinformation being reasonably likely to cause or contribute to serious harm” is extremely broad; it only has to be ‘reasonably likely to do so’.”

. What is "excluded content", to be decided by politicians or bureaucrats to exempt material being excluded from being misinformation or disinformation.

Like the abominable Voice, here's another piece of bull-at-a-gate rubbish piece of drafting by people not up to the job.

Not only are we facing totalitarianism, we are now copping the educational dumbing-down that has been in operation for some time.

Like the Voice, this Bill can't be repaired. It needs chucking out, never to appear again.
