Since 2018 there have been at least 5 studies undertaken around the world involving the energy return on investment for wind energy.

It typically takes about six months for turbines to achieve energy-payback time, or EPBT, the time it takes for a system to generate more energy than it took to make it.

The US Environmental Protection Agency report said the typical lifespan was 20 years for wind turbines. Other sources estimate from 18-25 years.

I estimate this gives a return of 40-1 but some more conservative estimates are a 20-1 return (they are probably adding other costs not just energy in and energy out).

It's no wonder that the energy sector is pouring money into wind turbines.

Would you take those odds of 40-1 on a sure thing?

Considering the sub-sonic vibrations, the noise that is always there even while one cannot hear it, the headaches, the sleep deprivation, the mental anguish the people living nearby are going to suffer from as a result, then considering the time I would have to spend in hell as a result of inflicting all that, I don't find the investment in wind turbines a profitable one.

The pollution factor from producing wind turbines to the disposal pollution is not worth toying around with those things !

Go nuclear at current coal and gas electricity generators and stop destroying the environment with huge eye sore towers and lines across farmlands.

So profitable. Yet they still need subsidies by the bucket load. I wonder why?

Answer.... they are in fact not in the slightest bit profitable without the government tipping gigantic sums toward wind companies. This is a massive transfer of cash from the poor users to the rich investors.

Wherever wind generation becomes a significant part of a country's energy make up, electricity prices rise, often dramatically. Figures like WTF's bogus numbers are only achieved by ignoring all the extra costs with so-called renewables such as transmission costs.

When will we get bureaucrats to pull the bureaudroids into line & stop wasting so much useful funding.

The companies building the wind turbines pay land owners the schrapnel and keep all the notes to themselves.
Also the landowners have to accept the costs and liabilities when the damn things catch fire and burn down.
The whole thing is a con job, the citizens don't save a cent on electricity but the rich investors get richer.

Energy profiteering keeps our nation poor.
And it's the poor that suffer most.

Old people dying in the heat scared to run air-conditioning, or freezing to the bone in winter.

But the government doesn't care about these things.
We'll only ever go backwards with these idiots in charge.
Doesn't matter which party it is, none pass the sniff test.

The one common deep-rooted problem with people being given authority without actually having to prove merit & general understanding of authority, is that they all have the trait of Uni indoctrination because without it they wouldn't be accepted by those who are exactly as they are, senseless, selfish little backyard Hitlers & in the case of the Voice, little Amins !

Dear WTF,

Technological advances in the sector means wind turbines
are now larger, more efficient and make use of
intelligent technology. Rotor diameters and hub heights have
increased to capture more energy per turbine.

Advancing technology means that fewer turbines are needed to
produce the same energy and wind farms have increasingly
sophisticated adaptive capacity.

Yes I would bet on electricity generated by wind turbines.
The Clean Energy Council tells us that wind was again
Australia's leading source of clean energy in 2020.

The manufacturing of wind generators involves huge amounts of mining, processing of raw materials, child labour, slave labour, chemical pollution, etc etc.
Then, once the generators reach their use by date, the disposal of the material is another massive environmental & costly process with no finality.
Coal burning can be reduced by reducing demand, pollution once there is there forever !
People need to be forced to be less demanding if they can't self-discipline ! There's no need for 350hp outboard engines to go fishing nor is there any justification for driving emission spewing planes, boats, cars & motorbikes etc in circles for fun. Just to tow these things around requires just as fuel-guzzling trucks !
