Whenever Governments try to enforce thought control it stifles, thought and personal independence. They want everyone to be controlled and compliant. Their life belongs to the Government.

Queensland’s proposed 'Criminal Code (Serious Vilification and Hate Crimes) and Other Legislation Amendment Bill 2023' is also another significant threat to free speech in that state, and one that could be appealing to the other Socialist states (plus Tasmania, whose government is doing its damnest to be Socialist until Labor takes over there, too).
The law proposed by the Queensland Labor Government could see people who promote common sense views arrested: they could face up to three years in jail for posting anything deemed by the government to be “transphobic”, “homophobic” or “racist” on social media. Speech that incites acts and language towards people
or groups on the basis of belief, race, sex, sexual orientation, or any other factor inherent to their person or identity seeking to diminish their dignity and demean their value in the eyes of others is offensive, irresponsible, and wrong. And whether it's a Prime Minister or an International body trying to prevent this sort of behaviour - they are to be commended for trying to right the wrongs. That's why we have laws in civilised societies. Posted by Foxy, Wednesday, 26 July 2023 10:39:06 AM

The UN was created to prevent wars between nations not to regulate minority groups within nations- the UN has become a source of dangerous tyranny- and seems to closely resemble communist totalitarianism- rather than Roman style federalism and the English style separation of limited powers Westminster System. As Nietzsche/ Ayn Rand/ and others say you can't trust those who don't put limitations on their own power. Communism in all it's embodiments has never been able to limit the power of the state dictator over everything- even life itself. This is why the US believes in the right of citizens to bear arms.
Woke-ism and Communism is not about fairness it's about power because they refuse to define limits to power Gay and Lesbian politics is about power over society not about fairness. As the communists say "give me your children and we'll change the world" and Nikita Krushev "we will bury you". Posted by Canem Malum, Wednesday, 26 July 2023 1:29:02 PM

Kudos ttbn.
Yes sovereignty is important. Government of the people by the people for the people. But what is a people. Perhaps the US didn't envisage the scale of mass immigration and refugees in 1776. Many nations evolved from tribes- so the integrity of the nation is tied to the ethnicity, race, culture of the tribe- to replace the people of a nation is racism. But there are many sorts of racism and bigotry. It's somewhat reductionist to accuse someone of racism because everyone is guilty- but people shouldn't feel guilty of protecting themselves and their own lives and cultures. In a sense the West is particularly vulnerable to guilt given the role of "sin" in Christianity either secular or religious cultures- perhaps this is not shared in Hebrew culture or other Abrahamic cultures. Communism according to Dostoevsky is nihilism seeking to destroy all culture in the name of freedom from "the man"- but communism isn't freedom as we've seen. Without "the man" there isn't organization, or nation, or culture, or food- and we all starve. This is the result of woke-ism and communism- death. The new age- human potential movement (EST and others) talked about killing the policeman in our heads reverting to nihilism. Nikita Krushchev seemed to imply in his comment "we will bury you" that we are completely unaware of the breath and depth- the very reality meaning and it's distortionary effects of communism. One of the founding ideas of democracy is that if everyone can act according to their own interest- violent change of leader is unnecessary- but in the world of today more and more people find themselves as powerless- ripe conditions for violent change- if it wasn't for tyrannical technology. Taken from the internet:
"The history of Britain's population is all about arriving, staying, and settling or - leaving, moving, and settling elsewhere." "People from continental Europe began to settle in different parts of Britain over the last Ice Age, around 12,000 years ago." "Ever since, the islands have been continuously occupied as new arrivals mixed with existing residents." This story continues in modern Britain, and many other countries around the world, as people come from every corner of the globe to settle in their turn. BTW:
We need to be careful with the use of the word "Kudos." It can have different meanings. It doesn't necessarily mean "Well done!" It can also be sarcastic to finally highlight something acceptable like: "Kudos to you for coming to work today! Posted by Foxy, Wednesday, 26 July 2023 6:37:20 PM

We should be careful of those who on the one hand demand "freedom", be it freedom of speech, or freedom of action, then in an instant would recklessly use that power to attack and deny others not of their mind, their basic freedoms. The extreme are well known for demanding these rights, and then exercising those freedoms to target and attack others, firstly with "hate speak" and when in a position to do so, with "direct action". The extremists will qualify their action against undesirables as necessary for the good of society. BTW, the extreme once in control soon deny those basic freedoms they were so demanding of for themselves, to others not of their liking.

Dear Paul,
Free speech has always had limitations in civilized societies. We've had laws against slander, hate speech, and so on. The best way to stop speech that is hateful is to counter it with better, more reasonable ideas. We should be able to self-regulate. Rational people learn to recognize hurtful or hate speech in various contexts - especially if it becomes hurtful or harmful to others. It should be frowned upon. Free speech relies on honesty and respect. Words are the manifestations of ideology. That's why we do have laws and institutions that protect all of us, and encourage us to strive for principles of equal rights, self-determination. The strengthening, promotion, encouragement, and respect, for human rights and for freedoms without discrimination. Good governments strive towards these ends. Totalitarian regimes don't. Luckily for us in this country - we have governments who believe in taking appropriate measure to strengthen our freedoms. They believe in trying to achieve international co-operation in solving domestic and international problems of an economic, social, cultural and humanitarian character and to promote, encourage, and respect human rights and freedoms for all - without discrimination. And for that we should all be grateful. Posted by Foxy, Thursday, 27 July 2023 10:01:22 AM

Foxy seems to be saying that even though the UK has occupied it's Territory for 12,000 years- it was originally founded based on a wide? arrange of ice age peoples- therefore it is a migrant nation and should allow all migrants- independent of the continuity of culture that has lasted for that 12,000 years.
The best lies often contain some truth Foxy seems to agree with the Communist Nihilists that culture should be destroyed. At least in the British Isles- I think that is what the Communists Woke-ists label a racist micro-aggression. As someone else said "the local community was never asked" when the liberal governments the uni-party (Labor and the Global Capitalists) pushed immigration on them. _____________ Paul1405 seems to be saying that one tyranny justifies another tyranny. So we see that he supports tyranny- this is the sort of thinking in the Gay, Feminist, so called Anti-Racism movements that believe that any sort of dirty tactics are justified because "they know they are right"- Stalin believed similar things- isn't this sort of the definition of wrongness- I could be wrong. On the other hand those less communist or totalitarian views believe that while all systems of community structure (loosely government) are imperfect there are principles that create better outcomes than others. Periodically we can review these principles to determine the inconsistencies and debate and analyse them to remediate- this is the scientific method- but that doesn't mean that our society should be a slave to science or scientists- just as in science individuals can vote according to their conscience and their self interest in spite of the scientific evidence. There is also the role of nature in society- our evolutionary roots- which communism and woke-ism seems to deny in favour of seeing society as exclusively a blank slate/ nihilistic slate- why do communists do this- what is their purpose- to create confusion to separate people from their wise elders their families their strength their past and their future- for totalitarian power. The tree of life appears to have many contradictions with communism- territorialism, parochialism, tribalism, traditionalism, survivalism- so one might conclude as Nietzsche did that communist nihilism is Anti-Life.
Perhaps Paul1405 is Anti-Life- as he seems to believe similar things to Stalin. There are times that perhaps the views of Stalin need to be repressed. As they say there is a time for everything under heaven. Sometimes the principles that are held as cannon are in opposition and we must use intelligence to navigate these dangerous waters. At times we must also use instinct to decide- my instinct is that communism and woke-ism and anti-racism are extremely dangerous forces in western society. What do you think? One way to manage a debate is to allow all speakers to have equal time without interruptions and eject any people that refuse to follow these rules of communication hygiene. Sometimes it's possible to provide further clarification by written (or other) form as part of the debate- perhaps with a word limit- but allowing links to external sources. Set the expectation that some of the views may be confronting, controversial, offensive, insulting, dangerous but this is not a reason to stop the speaker from speaking for their time. It is necessary to explore dangerous ideas- because it is necessary for life Posted by Canem Malum, Thursday, 27 July 2023 10:25:41 AM

Canem Malum asks; "What do you think?" I think your continual diatribes on the forum about "communists" and their extreme philosophy puts you at odds with a moderate progressive such as myself. I suspect, although you would never admit it, you are a member of some equally extreme group who see communism as a competing ideology with your own far fetched philosophy.
"Paul1405 seems to be saying that one tyranny justifies another tyranny,So we see that he supports tyranny. Perhaps Paul1405 is Anti-Life- as he seems to believe similar things to Stalin." When it comes to you fella, there is no perhaps about it, you are a out and out extremist, a far right nut job, gathering that from what you presented here in the past, articulate like an Oswald Mosley, but an extremist never the less. People like you might walk the walk, and talk the talk, but given the opportunity you would soon show your true colours of hate, with the associated bastardy that goes with it, certainly towards those who might oppose you. What do you think? Posted by Paul1405, Thursday, 27 July 2023 1:42:36 PM

CM,
Yes. The Left has always been anti-human. We now have 'transhumanism' - "the belief or theory that the human race can evolve beyond its current physical and mental limitations, especially by means of science and technology." This is a real goer with the authoritarian Left, and the Fascist WEF. There was an Israeli WEF devotee whom I saw doing a rant on it recently. I was so disgusted that I turned him off without getting his name. Posted by ttbn, Thursday, 27 July 2023 1:46:32 PM

Is it the same ttbn who elsewhere on the forum was agreeing with the forced DNA testing of people to "prove" their "Aboriginalness" (what ever that is)? No chance of free choice there! Thanks ttbn. Thanks for starting this thread.
As far as being an extremist- this sounds like DARVO to me- a narcisistic claim. I would be happy to let both Stalin and Mosley speak and let their words condemn them or not- to the people- as Voltaire would have it- would Paul1405 accept the same faults and benefits of free democratic speech or would he favour communistic woke tyrannical Political Correctness- as Stalin did enforced by punishment of death- I suspect the later. As for Foxy extricating herself- it seems to be people like Foxy that want to stick their noses into everyone else's business- this is known as sealion-ing. http://scareduck.blogspot.com/2015/10/sealioning-defined.html Traditionalist people just want to be left alone- ie extricated- to be with their own kin in their own communities- and controlling their own destiny according to the principles set out in the UN on "right to self determination"- but sadly there are people who refuse to let this sovereignty occur- and they seem to have opinions very similar to Foxy- I consider that Foxy is "racially tyrannical" for this reason. When someone tries to destroy my franchise in my territory I believe that this is racist against me. This seems to be related to the concept of ownership. Communists are attacking this corner of ownership now and will attack other forms of ownership later- eventually people such as Foxy will come after your home- they are already going after your children. Vladimir Lenin Quotes- Give us the child for 8 years and it will be a Bolshevik forever. http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/vladimir_lenin_383393 One of the principles of the west is the principle of separation of powers- this carries over to other principles of distribution of power and ownership in the west- as well as territorialism in the animal kingdom. This has led to relative freedom in the west Posted by Canem Malum, Thursday, 27 July 2023 5:22:33 PM

On the other hand Communism believes that freedom is to be obtained through putting totalitarian power of ownership in the hands of one- in the name of equality. Some how I don't think it works. But Foxy seems to support it- and she is a little old woman like Yoda. Dear Paul,
Thank You for the birthday greeting. We seem to have touched some nerves. Non-achievers need to try to label others to make themselves feel taller. What they don't understand is that they must first get out of the gutter. Labelling automatically leads to false conclusions and wrong assumptions because as human beings we are far too broad to be boxed into labels. Any nation that succeeds in lowering the quality of life of it's First Nations people has a lot to answer. Hopefully this will be rectified shortly by real Australians. Talking about fighting for our freedoms. Although I loved the Star War series and of course Yoda and his wisdom. I identify more closely with Grazina - a mythical Lithuanian Chieftainess who fought the forces of the Medieval Order of the Teutonic Knights. She is the main character of a poem by Adam Mickiewicz. I suppose Albanese's Voice could be just a distraction from all his other stuffups and deliberate attacks:
. cost of living . soaring electricity prices (opposite of what he promised) . dirty deals with unions . more restrictions on landlords causing increasing sell-offs and further rental shortages . destruction of the environment for windmills and solar farms . increasing mass immigration . personal globe-trotting . approval of ACT's take over Calvary Hospital . anti-religion, anti-family . massive spending, contributing to inflation . responsibility for shortages of vital medicines . permitting China to use Australia as first choice to buy up housing first half '23 . marching and waving at the last homosexual circus . silence on puberty blocker and mutilation of minors . proposed censorship of free speech And that's just what we know about; most of which remains un-debated because of Albanese's constant whinnying about the Voice and his other nonsense that takes the average person's eye off the ball. All the signs of a communist dictatorship. Institutions captured. Hatred and suspicion sown. Fear. Division. Lies. It has all happened before. Joseph Stalin would be proud. Xi Jinping is encouraged. joins Albanese to back end Julian Assange's UK incarceration. The Opposition Leader supports fully diplomatic intervention in the Wikileaks founder's case saying it has gone on for too long. Amnesty International also stresses that - "Authorities in the US must drop the espionage and all other charges against Assange that relate to his publishing activities as part of his work with Wikileaks." Answer- I can empathize with Diver Dan's comment on democracy as our democracy isn't necessarily democratic in some senses. Democracy is partly based on the principle of distribution of power- but as ttbn says Australia is governed by a uni-party concentration of power- and is perhaps becoming more and more totalitarian month by month- while we are ineffectively attempting to solve the problem by a framework that is designed for totalitarianism Posted by Canem Malum, Monday, 31 July 2023 1:54:23 AM

During the course of that, I was made aware that the United Nations wants opinions concerning the LGBT censored; particularly those based on religious beliefs.
The 53rd. UNHRC report claims that "religious freedom conflicts with LGBT 'rights'".
This report suggests that governments should enforce acceptable LGBT standards within religious contexts, and penalise "non-compliant" religious leaders and organisations.
