According to Crikey (17/6/23) it "is all but guaranteed" in Australia that, because of new rules intended to stop the spread of "illegal" content online, the government will force Big Tech to scan our emails and texts.

All about child sexual abuse and terrorism (wink); but we know for sure that, just recently, 4,123 online political comments that didn't fit the official government line were censored out by a government department - as they were scouting for terrorists.

This information is based on a "barely noticed announcement made this month by Australia’s online safety chief is the strongest signal yet that tech companies like Meta, Google and Microsoft will soon be legally required to scan all user content."

As someone said in an interview I saw last night: 'if we are now having to live in a Communist regime, why don't they just come out and say so'.

Dear Ttbn,

If I had anything to hide then I would encrypt my E-mails.

I would be using my own encryption/decription program which is practically unbreakable.

If the Communists have their way their will be nowhere to hide. We need to push back Communism worldwide- don't trade with them- freeze them out of the system. They are taking more of the worlds land area. Yeonmi Park escaped from North Korea and then China when she was 13 and eventually came to the west- but now Communism is coming to the west.

Yeonmi Park said that she was told as a young girl not even to whisper her thoughts because it could lead to the death of three generations of her family.

Remember Mao's 100 flowers campaign.

Sounds very similar to cancel culture and political correctness.

Unfortunately, there are not enough of "we". Most Australians have their heads firmly up their arses with fear and self-interest. The Neo-Communists are nasty and vicious. Australian and Western society must go down under the pressure of Leftist lunacy, perversion, selfishness. Albanese represents and promotes it all.

The heroes who made Australia what it was are all gone; and we are left with cowardly, snivelling bed wetters, with truly rotten politicians marching to the drum of WEF, WHO UN, and globalisation.

"If the Communists have their way....yap, yap, yap" This bloke who prattles on in 90% of his posts with references to communists and/or communism, most likely believes his own rhetoric. He does have a fellow space cadet in ttbn. Yet when asked to name one, just one, influential Communist in Australia, and I don't mean Albanese, he can't name a single one. How about giving up the over kill on those imaginary Communists.

Yeah I dunno Paul, the only really good thing I can say Albo's done is defending Assange, but he's such a girl in the way he goes about things the US isn't going to listen to him anyway.

Meanwhile he spent hundreds of billions on stupid submarine deal, and the voice, and gets around straddled by his female lieutenants, when he's not prancing along at the mardi grass.

And yes the censorship is becoming over the top.
I reckon you should be able to say whatever you want as long as it holds merit or is a valid argument and isn't a direct threat of violence towards others.

Would anyone in more sophisticated countries than Australia listen to a whiny-voiced bogan like Albanese? I don't like any politicians, but having this one as our PM travelling around the world is an embarrassment to me. Even more embarrassing than Morrison, plaiting his legs to put up his hand in Scotland for the stupid, unachievable Zero Emissions by 2050 guff. And yes: Albanese grinning away at the Mardi Gras freak show was a real turn off. Sick-making!

Albanese looks and acts like a buffoon; and his stupidity is going to run us into the ground. Clamping down on freedom of speech is just one of the ways he will do it.

However, I can't agree with you on the submarines: it's the only thing Labor is getting right, in my opinion. The last lot just talked about it and did nothing.

Still. As I said elsewhere, there's no way out while we have the only two parties capable of forming a government in lockstep with each other on most things: climate, covid, transgenderism, and education, just to name a few areas. We have a very bleak future.

"So Ttbn was disparaging incontinent people and you now excel him by using 'girl' or 'female' as derogatives - Watch What You Say..."

Generally I wouldn't make fun of people having plumbing problems, as we all age, but for Biden I'd probably make an exception...
But even with Biden, there's plenty things I could make fun of about him instead.

A few days back he said he's going to build a railroad across the Indian ocean and yesterday he said God save the Queen.
- The guy doesn't know what day of the week it is, mumbles about eating chocolate chip ice-cream.

He makes Albo look intelligent, but even he has some kind of balls and manliness about him wearing his aviators and talking with manly conviction, where Albo is a pink tie wearing pansy.

And I'm not ashamed of anything I've said here.

Hey ttbn,
"However, I can't agree with you on the submarines: it's the only thing Labor is getting right, in my opinion."

I think it was an overpriced exercise in arse-licking US butt.
For submarines that won't even belong to us, or used exclusively by us.

And completely pointless unless you think war with China is inevitable, which I don't believe it is.
- The US is going to have to provoke a war first, and we'll be there helping them, when trading with them NOT making war with them is far more in the public interest of the Australian people.

The Taiwanese opposition will probably see what happened to Ukraine and move closer to China, the Taiwan Straight should not be navigated by any country who claims to recognise the One China policy, and ASEAN nations who have claims on the South China Sea have no interest in war, and probably value a relationship with China as much as the West, unless they have US puppet rulers installed to provoke China.

So ultimately all expensive and pointless, when cooler heads should prevail, if only they could first see sense, that war for the sake of US ruling the world is neither necessary, preferable or realistic.

Hi Again AC,

You're absolutely correct about the nuclear submarines, Morrison was ordered by Washington to dump the French deal, and go all the way with LBJ! Love him or hate him, Australia has not had a government with the backbone to stand up to America since Whitlam, and look where that got him. The Noalition has always been sycophantic toadies when it comes to US relations, and Labor is no better.

I see the latest is Ukraine to join NATO. The Russians must feel encircled and vulnerable to US aggression, if they don't already. How long before there is "Russian prevarication" against a NATO ally in Ukraine which warrants direct US involvement in the war. AND Australia will have to be involved also, as it would be in our interests! So the Americans would tell us.

You will have to remind where and when I "was disparaging incontinent people".

I don't recall doing such a thing.

Nor do I know how Biden got into this discussion. And you introduced submarines and the suggestion of licking America's arse.

What do those two things have to do with the Albanese government trying to censor freedom of speech in Australia? The same applies to comments on Taiwan. Nothing to do with the subject.

Do you, and others, want to avoid the subject of government censorship by Albanese (it is pretty scary, and you might not like admitting to the sort of government we have) by introducing irrelevant material? Albanese does the very same thing when he gets uncomfortable questions that he can't deal with. Heads in the sand.

The subjects irrelevant to my thread could easily be used to start threads of your own - which could certainly do with some discussion.

Hi Paul,
I'm not sure the US wants to get involved.
The US public is starting to be displeased with all the money spent on the war, and I think it would be deeply unpopular if thousands of US troops started coming home in flag draped coffins.
- Not to mention the existing US military doctrine has been thrown in the dustbin after this current failed offensive.
I've heard that Russia is considering attacking NATO bases in NATO countries if the F-16's fly from there, so if these countries go along with that plan, they're going to be dragged into the conflict directly.

Hi ttbn,
I never said you were, Yuyutsu did in his last comment above,
- I was just following on from that.

I've been saying about the overreach of censorship for years.
The general public buys into every bit of feelgood crap they're sold on the basis of 'for their own safety' or 'the environment'
- Everything from hate speech to a war on plastic bags and plastic straws'.
Whether it creates an outcome that's actually better or not is beside the point, the public accept every single one of these changes 'for their own good' and the agenda makes just keep shifting the goalposts.

What's the point of even complaining about it, when here all know damn well that everyone is going to go along with it.
- And dissenters aren't even allowed a voice, because the media is bought and paid for as well.

We'll be eating mealworms and crickets soon, because they'll tell us it's a step forward.

As for the subs, and war with China...

Taiwan’s US rep not ‘satisfied’ with Biden’s support
- Devastation in Ukraine stokes fear among Taiwanese
http://asiatimes.com/2023/06/taiwans-us-rep-not-satisfied-with-bidens-support/
"The DPP was soundly thrashed by the Kuomintang (KMT), the party that wishes to maintain the status quo with the mainland, leave in place the 'strategic ambiguity' of the One China Policy and take a peaceful approach to Beijing."

Hopefully cooler heads prevail.

Dear Ttbn,

People who wet their bed are incontinent, yet that was not the point of my post to Armchair Critic, that was just to provide a frame of reference in order to point out his negative attitude towards girls and women:

Fair enough, he does nor like Anthony Albanese, few do, but why then does he liken him to a girl? He doesn't like Albanese's military officers/advisors, fair enough but why then refer to them as "female lieutenants"? Are women inferior to men in any way?

AC,

With political correctness all the rage these days you can no longer refer to Anthony Albanese as a "pansy" the correct term is, 'Viola tricolor var. hortensis', being a member of the viola family in the genus of hortensis. Repeat after me 10 times; "Albanese is a Viola tricolor var. hortensis".

Yuyutsu; "he does nor like Anthony Albanese, few do" I bet he's got more friends on 'Facebook' than the "No Friends Nigel", that is Dud Dutton.

I know what incontinence means. And, people express themselves in their own way. AC was, I believe, commenting on his perception of Albanese's unmanliness - not disparaging women.

And, by the bye, women are always making uncomplimentary remarks about men, most of which we men laugh at, and even 'get' what they are saying. And, like the rest of us, AC would not think women are inferior - but different, as they should be.

I would probably be classed as misogynistic because I firmly believe that women do not belong in certain occupations (just like men in some occupations). But that doesn't mean they are 'inferior'. In fact, with the present state of the Opposition, I think that someone like Michaelia Cash would do a much better job than Dutton is. But, so would Little Miss Muffitt do better than the poor man.

Hi Paul,
Apologies for the use of the word 'pansy',
- I forgot what year it was - thanks for reminding me.

Thanks ttbn, at least someone knew what I meant.
And yes Elon Musk has stirred things up with his purchase of Twitter.

Tucker Carlson has been posting short programs on Twitter after he was fired from Fox.
News Corp / Murdoch (and the political establishment / liberal left) has been going nuts about it, saying Tuckers in breach of contract.
They want him silenced so that he can't influence the 2024 election.
I thought Fox was a Republican aligned broadcaster, it's as if they want Democrats to win.
Maybe Tuckers ousting was a part of the Dominion settlement, some even say Zelensky himself ask Rupert Murdoch for him to be removed.
Not exactly sure what the truth is.

But Carlson's short 13 minute videos on Twitter are a great watch and very popular.
There's 4 short episodes so far.
You can see them here:
http://twitter.com/TuckerCarlson

Even Trump himself responded with a video about Tuckers Episode 3 which aired about a week back.

Trump Praises Tucker Carlson In Fiery Rant Against 'Globalists And Deep-Staters'
http://youtu.be/zATT6FV4KCo

There's even a Musk / Carlson interview, but I haven't watched it.

Tucker Carlson's Jaw-Dropping Interview With Elon Musk
http://youtu.be/1JPBI0oudrU

Remember how all the liberal lefties went crazy when Elon bought Twitter.
Even the EU says they will bring massive fines against Twitter if he doesn't bow to their regulations, after Twitter withdrew from the European Union's Code of Practice on online disinformation in May.
Musk has threatened to take Twitter out of the EU altogether.

To get back to the thread; I while back I read an article from the
UK where a man who had offended someone was questioned by the police
and asked what he was thinking at that time !
Can't remember all the detail but the police wanted to know his
thoughts.
Another case was a man who was praying silently was asked if he was
praying and would be arrested if he did not stop.
A moslem had made a complaint.

Now it all started out in the UK just like it is starting here now.
It graduates from someone in a demo shouting out a denigrating remark
to getting a legal tag like Islamaphobia.
Just watch it escalate from "offensive to Hate Speach to Incitement
to You name it phobia, Trans phobia etc etc.
Howlong before it becomes "LeftyPhobia".
You will be unable to criticise the Labour Party without Paul giving it a tag.

A new bit of news on this subject.
Nigel Farage, most will know of this ex EU politician and Brexit
leader, got a call from his bank manager that his account has been
cancelled. No explanation given.
He tried to open accounts in 7 other banks and was refused by all.
There is talk of him forming a new party which might be the reason.
He did not mention what happened to his money.
He appears on GBNEWS.com which might the other reason.
His comment was "they" might want him to leave Britain.

Which brings me to our upcoming "Disinformation & Misinformation"
legislation. This will be administered by ACMA's bureaucrats.
We are heading down the same path as that exDemocratic country of Britain.
I also notice that Canada has also again blocked the bank accounts of naughty Canadian truck drivers.
How long before we see that action here ?
Don't laugh; They are coming for you !

Dear Bezza,

Farage should have been on the sanctions list a long time ago. The payments he was receiving from Russia, mostly via RT, during and after Brexit were notable. Over 500,000 pounds in 2018 alone.

He was most certainly a PEP or 'politically exposed person' and the implication of the bank closing his account is that he has been receiving funds from dubious sources.

SR that was an accusation made under parliamentary privilege and he
has denied it. I think there is more to come on that.
However is that a reason to remove a banking facility from someone ?
Certainly investigate to see if there was an improper payment.
How are they supposed to live, buy food etc. Even his family have had
their bank accounts closed.

Our coming Ministry of Truth legislation could cause the closure of this site.
Could this site continue if I said Global Warming is a load of rubbish
and just a political stunt ?
If the thought police pounced this site could be fined $1,000,000.
Perhapd Graham might like to comment.

More; On GB News another interviewee whose name & organisation I
did not catch also was debanked. This man claimed that he had been
debanked and a number of people had spoken to him and it seems if you
have unpopular opinions the banks can debank you.

It is reported that there might be action against this by government.
While this might not apply here it does show how banks "can" develop
that kind of mindset.

Dear Bezza,

No, that is embellishing.

He was told he could continue with a personal account with them but not a business one.

News to me about his family but if he was filtering payments through them then this is completely inline with their original stance.

As to this: "SR that was an accusation made under parliamentary privilege and he has denied it. I think there is more to come on that." the amount mention was monies received in 2018.

There has been an ongoing conflict and a list of sanctions applied since then hence the actions of the banks.

Fair enough too. The bloke is a lying scoundrel who has likely taken Putin's money and does his bidding. Brexit was an absolute joy to the Russians and Farage's part in it is undeniable.
