Thanks Indyvidual and ttbn- good to hear about the phones that aren't made in China and the divestment programs. Many of the cheaper phones such as Oppo are made in China. The most popular operating system for "feature phones" is owned by TCL China. There are still many apps, websites, etc, etc that are made in China.

In order to spy on Australia not all the phones, apps, operating systems need to be Chinese to track everyone and to undermine democracy.

As Yuri Bezmenov said in his Harvard speech- "when people went to Japan the Japanese said "thank you for coming please leave now"- so Japan can't be subverted by foreign propaganda".

Also the cheaper "smart"phone chipsets are designed /made in China- such as Mediatek, Unisoc?.

Phone chipsets designed in more friendly nations include Qualcom, Exynos.

All this popular hardware is a problem and updates can be inserted into
your computer without you being aware. One US company computers had
their motherboards manufactured in China but sometime later someone
held the board up to a bright light and between layers there was an
extra chip installed. Hmm, never heard any follow up on that.

As far as the cameras are concerned, do they have wifi or bluetooth ?
If so they would not need to be hardwire connected to the internet.
Just drive somewhere near and download from an undocumented address.
No internet needed.
It is all just that simple.
