That is exactly what former NSW Nationals leader John Barilaro is accused of engaging in.

"New South Wales Labor leader Chris Minns has referred former deputy premier John Barilaro to the state’s anti-corruption commission for his alleged intervention on a $100m bushfire program, which saw Labor electorates miss out on funding."

Projects in these two areas were excluded from the $100 million Fast-Tracked stream.
