"New South Wales Labor leader Chris Minns has referred former deputy premier John Barilaro to the state’s anti-corruption commission for his alleged intervention on a $100m bushfire program, which saw Labor electorates miss out on funding."
Minns said; "It should be a basic tenant in Australia that if you need help in the time of a disaster, and it makes no difference who you voted for.” Well maybe it does in the case of the NSW Coalition.
"The NSW Audit Office on Thursday found there was a lack of "transparency" and "integrity" in the funding of projects, as well as the decisions made by Mr Barilaro. (Barilaro's) office also put forward 35 projects – with their electorate location next to it. " Funding went mostly to Coalition electorates The Audit Office report found the highest impacted LGAs were “either wholly or primarily” in Coalition electorates but two highly affected LGAs - Blue Mountains City Council and Tenterfield Shire Council – were in Labor electorates. Projects in these two areas were excluded from the $100 million Fast-Tracked stream.
