Dear Mr Rudd (Minister for Propaganda) : Comments

By Chris Lewis, published 27/7/2009

Prime Minister Kevin Rudd's recent essay is mostly rhetoric intended to promote Labor’s election prospects.

Of course Rudd's essays are propaganda, but, as Kenny says, it's wonderful that we have a PM with the capacity and intelligence to actually write them.

And Kenny, if you want to truly appreciate Keith's qualifications as a critic, have a look through his post history for the staunch defences of George W. Bush's mighty intellect. No joke. Keith reckons Bush is a man of great learning and wisdom.

Most people won't read the essay but rather (like me!) rely on the glossy positive spin achieved in the electronic media.

It sounded good on TV and radio that he had written something that long, which shows he must be clever because who can write anything like 6000 words , I mean that's like 40 Tweets! What-ever!!

I think this will feed the public perception that Rudd is smart, on top of the issues, and ahead of the pack.

All that with only a few hardy souls actually having read it.

An election is about a year away. I am not surprised that propaganda, spin , or simply plain old politics is starting to sharpen up now.

Turnbull must be blaming his old dog Wilson for eating his homework, otherwise we would be talking about his "magnus hopeless".

Rudd 1 Turnbull 0

Game on!!

And Sancho,

Good 'ole Obama is confirming Good ole George's intellect by continuing all Good 'ole George's policies and initiatives, and slowly and surely like Rudd dumping the impossible promises he made to his electorate.

Only difference here to there is the media in the states are no longer sucking up to their fool like our media is here to ours.

This is outrageous!

Better for him to tell us nothing and take us nowhere and leave this sort of thing to professional spin merchants and poll analysts.

You obviously can see through the politicians wrecking the country. A pellucid and perspicacious commentary.

His little essay is economics 101. States the bleeding obvious; demand goes up, prices go up, that's all she wrote. Being honest with the Australian people (Krudd's words, not mine) isn't the point though. Uh-uh!

Politically, writing an essay on that, calling "the bumpy road", is an attempt by the kardboard kut-out to instill fear and anxiety into the public, into which the kaped krusader Kevin0-whatever flies to repair the pillars holding the sky from falling with band-aid policy, thereby positioning himself as the go-to guy when all's bad. Only has to do one tiny thing positive (or buy the gullible with another 900 bucks) and the people will fall to their knees. Kevin, you saved us again!

It's just political maneuvering, isn't it Kev, you sly ol' dog?

Oh, for an opposition that can break the wave Kev's riding right now.....
