By Anthony Marinac, published 18/9/2006

Deleting Sandra Kanck's speech from Hansard has serious implications for democracy in South Australia and indeed, in Australia.

I have no problem with euthanasia. It should be applied to all our alleged politicians both present and previous.

I don't believe you Anthony. I have searched the Hansard and found no mention of the speech in question.

Surely you cannot expect us to believe that an official record keeper of an Australian Parliament would possibly keep an incomplete record. That just doesn't happen in a democracy.

The democrat's and the South Australian Parliament, scrap them both.
This pot smoking combination has been milking the good people of South Australia for far too long.
Perhaps the comments made by this overpaid parliamentarian should be taken up and acted on by the other parliamentarians present and Australia would be the better for it.

If the advice on suicide was likely to induce suicide, and the politicians are representative of the people, how come none of the affected politicians have since killed themselves?

Weh-hey, so South Australia's also adopting the 'managed democracy' approach as-seen-on-tv in Russia.

I agree entirely the Hansard must be kept a true record for future reference, especially when the issue discussed is a contentious one.

Don't you like the hipocrasy of the God Botherer's.

On the one hand the Liberal Party want a user pays system for health care ie you should pay for your medical treatment.
One the other side they want to suppress all information about euthanasia.

Do they expect poor people to learn humility through suffering unalleviated by the best medical care available and ignorant of how to organise a humane dignified exit.

Australia's secular democracy would be better served by keeping Hansard a complete record of parliamentary debate.
