The volcanic escalation on Java is a threat of potential regional chaos : Comments

By Murray Hunter, published 11/9/2026

150 million people live on Java, the most heavily populated island in the world. A the consequences of a volcanic disaster for them wouldn't be confined to Indonesia.

Flights have been interrupted before. No great tragedy. And, Murray Hunter is not a volcanologist to be lecturing us. The next thing you know, some nutter will start jabbering about Australia's imaginary “obligation” to do something about/for another country just because it's ‘in the region’: oodles of Australian taxpayers' money - and thousands of ‘refugees’. We already have a deal with another joint in the ‘region’ to take ‘climate refugees’, which is rubbish and nothing to do with us.

If Australia “owes” something to the Pacific Islands because we have (not) changed the climate, how much longer will it take to have us paying for volcanic activity in Indonesia!

The ‘region’ is a slick coercive scam wrapping Australia around its little finger.

Another marvellous source for Australia to stack-up on beautiful criminal based multicultural immigrants to plunder us at will.

It’s fine, there are plenty of poor white trash from the South to make housing available as they move themselves into cars and tents on the streets as a good will gesture of sacrifice to the Great brown God of Multiculturalism.

It is what happens if you happen to live on the "Ring Of Fire".

150 million people (apparently) live on Java. Some island I assume is north of Australia, probably part of Indonesia. So what are they doing about their volcanoes?

How long have they been living there? I'm thinking of the 150 million people - it is 2026 - someone on Java might have some sort of clue about their impending doom. 150 million!! Surely there's a few bright sparks among them. Are they all completely stupid idiots? Apparently so.

Look, it's their problem. Why don't they move out? Why don't they develop some sort of contingency plan to cope with volatile volcanoes? And finally, why tell us Australians about it? It's not an Australian problem (yet). Go tell the Javanese they need to start thinking and planning. 150 million people! Surely someone up there's got some brains.
