Seizing the global momentum for a two-state solution : Comments

By Alon Ben-Meir, published 15/8/2025

Palestinians and Israel, with the unwavering support of the US, must seize on the growing international momentum in support of an independent Palestinian state.

The article is spot on, but a peaceful solution still seems to be a bridge too far. Unfortunately the evidence of genocide and torture by the Zionist Nazi's is overwhelming. At least 1,000 innocent people have been indiscriminately shot whilst seeking food aid at the so called Israeli-American food distribution centres. Set up to lure innocent people to their deaths.

Dearest pot-head Paul, 14.05klm from Nimbin.

Your delusional.

However, I remain highly impressed with the outcomes of Leftist brainwashing techniques that produce such hatred and vitriol towards a Democracy and its inhabitants, assailed by Islamic terrorism on all sides.
Pity is, the Right can’t emulate these amazing outcomes for their own truthful message.

Dearest Yuyutsu

You’re such a confused little child.

You said: #… Israel should therefore not wait for them, but leave the cursed territories it occupies since 1967 unilaterally...#

I can’t even imagine anyone so stupid agreeing to your proposal: And do we hand back the Golan heights too: And why would you not consider the disastrous outcomes for Israel, following the hand back of Gaza to the Terrorist inspired Palestinians in 2005?

No wonder the NCO’s relegated you to peeling potatoes during your compulsory service in the IDF.

#… - yet am I not allowed, at least, to pray?…#

Yes, you may pray; but to which God do you pray?

There is but one God, and that the God of Abraham and Moses.
That be the common God of Christians, Jews and strangely, the Islamists too, since they are a fifth century Christian cult.

Should I say, be careful what you pray for, is good advice. But you as a Hindu, have no God as such I believe; so do Hindus pray to any God of convention; excuse my ignorance on the subject.

If Israel is committing genocide, they are making a very bad job of it: Gaza's population has increased.

I've just finished reading 'The 7 Deadly Myths', and I know a lot more now about Jewish history than I though I did prior to reading it.

It has made me even more pro-Israel and pro-Zionism.

After two millennia of discrimination and murdering of them in the most horrible ways - by everyone not Jewish, not just Muslims - they are not going to give in now.

Dear Dan,

There is but one God.
There is no place for any other.
While Judaism/Christianity/Islam declare that there is no other God besides, Hinduism takes it a step further, declaring that there is nothing whatsoever but God.
(Jewish Hasidism and Kabbalah, as well as Christian and Sufi mystics also arrived at this conclusion)

Even though science shows that Abraham never existed, there's no problem whatsoever in praying to "the God of Abraham and Moses", name being unimportant as Shri Krishna, God's human incarnation, declared:

"Whatever celestial form a devotee seeks to worship with faith, I steady the faith of such a devotee in that form. Endowed with faith, the devotee worships a particular celestial god and obtains the objects of desire. But in reality, I alone arrange these benefits." [Bhagavad-Gita 7:27-28]

«why would you not consider the disastrous outcomes for Israel, following the hand back of Gaza to the Terrorist inspired Palestinians in 2005?»

Israel didn't hand Gaza to Hamas or any other terrorist organisation: Israel left Gaza in 2005 and Hamas took over in 2007.
Netanyahu then came to power in 2009 and started financing Hamas so they could buy the rockets and dig the tunnels under Gaza. There's no way they could have caused these disastrous consequences without Netanyahu's money.

«I can’t even imagine anyone so stupid agreeing to your proposal»

Many wise Israelis want just that, for Israel to leave its occupied territories, starting with the late Prof. Yeshayahu Leibowitz - http://rethinkingforeignpolicy.org/2015/08/03/5183/

«And do we hand back the Golan heights too»

In 1967, Israel's government offered Syria to return the Golan Heights in exchange for peace. Located in a highly strategic position, it was irresponsible to return them while Syria was a hostile military force to reckon with. By now, Syria is a military dwarf, even unable to manage its internal feuds. Now its new regime is pleading Israel for peace. Now is the time.

Israel must do what's good for Israel and leave.

If Israel plays to the "Palestinian" flute, defining itself negatively by its external enemies, then it lost its spirit and all wars.

Hi Yuyutsu,

"There is but one God. There is no place for any other." That is assuming there is a God in the first place. I don't believe in the existence of a physical God, a supernatural being who dwells in some place in the cosmos called heaven. We have discussed this before, and its my opinion that the existence of a God as such is irrelevant. What is important is ones own being, what dwells within the human sprit. Call what is within you God if you wish.

Buddhist teachings probably offers the best explanation on how we should view god(s);
It tells us to focus on our own individualism, and seek liberation from "suffering" through meditation and mindfulness, rather than concentrating on a external being(s) as our deliver from our own "suffering".
