Trump's tariffs are all about hot and cold wars and retooling the USA : Comments
By Graham Young, published 13/3/2025It would be foolish for Australia to apply reciprocal tariffs. We are a small trade-exposed economy where 46% of our GDP is exports and imports whereas the US is the largest economy in the world.

I agree with the author that it would be foolish to apply reciprocal tariffs: all we need is to stop allowing Australian banks to ask Australian customers whether they have any tax-relationship with America.
That is long overdue and once fixed, American banks will no longer recognise Australian banks, thus there will be no more trade with America - no buying, no selling and therefore also no tariffs!
Forget also about this archaic idea of the US having any interests in the Indo-Pacific: ghosts cannot do anything but scare in the dark and the Bible warns against having any deals with them.
Forget also about trying to phone Trump: phones require cables and satellites - a total waste!
Recall Kevin Rudd?
Why, he could stay there if he likes, we don't need him anyway, but then he will probably need to start working in order to pay the embassy's electricity bill, or otherwise sell the building because we need not waste one more cent in that direction.
The aboriginals lived here for 10,000's of years without anything coming from America - so can we!
