Albanese was naive enough to believe that Australia would be exempt from tariffs. Now he has something else to blame for his wrecking of the Australian economy, with his big Government and big spending lunacy. Albanese has no credibility whatsoever. Trump is the only credible politician in the West.

Albanese should be doubling defence spending instead of bribing voters. That way he might earn some respect from Trump. As it is, Trump won't even take a phone call from him. Why would he, when Albanese, his ambassador and ministers have been insulting him for years.

Net Zero/mass immigration of undesirables Australia has only itself, not Trump, to blame for the mess that it is in. And it's a big mess.

Serve us right. We keep voting for the same people and expecting different results; unlike American voters.

Hopefully we will soon have Dutton making things right with Trump. But we shouldn't hold our breath on that happening either.

They have gone out of their way to antagonise Trump. Trump rightly despises their weakness and pettiness, as they “sit around moping and crying with the European Union”.

Military aid aside the US could eventually need Australia more than we need them. We have beef exports to the US and potentially plenty of lithium, graphite, titanium sands, rare earths and gold as well as the surprise exports of steel and aluminium. If we buy the General Electric SMR they could cost more than A$2bn apiece. If Trump doesn't nix all tariffs we may not buy much from the US, both military and civilian nuclear. If so that mainly hurts the US.

LOL. India has imposed a 150% tariff on American alcohol. Since the end of the Raj alcohol should not be needed, given that Hindus, Sikhs and Muslims are not supposed to drink alcohol.
