By Teck Lim, published 12/2/2024The Western MIM, including Australia’s, will resist the emergence of the America First domestic policy preeminence but we are at a time in history when the old rules, benchmarks and tools of analysis do not work.

The U.S. Department of Justice has assessed Biden’s mental decline as rendering him unfit to stand trial for his mishandling of top-secret documents. (Today).
But, he is OK to run for a second term as President of the most powerful country in the world! Meanwhile, the same department has politicised the US justice system, persecuting Donald Trump to keep him from being President. Posted by ttbn, Monday, 12 February 2024 7:54:28 AM

Given Mr Trump threatens both our alliance and FTAs, I believe most Australians, Like the republican party have rejected Mr Trump and all the insanity he stands for.
People are waking up to this monster and are starting to compare him to Adolf Hitler. Clearly, he is a couple of sheep short in the top paddock. As are those armed and dangerous, brainless fruit loops/white supremists/nazi rednecks that support him and are ready and willing to obey his insane commands, like obedient robots, even if that means another north/south civil war? Wind them up and away they go! Ready to kill! Alan B. Posted by Alan B., Monday, 12 February 2024 9:43:22 AM

Given the speed of Biden's cognitive decline it is unlikely that he will last until the election. I think it more than a bit disgraceful for the presidential staffers to maintain a charade of Biden being sharp, capable and making all the decisions. The likely reality is that Biden is rarely competent, making few if any decisions.

Mr Trump will likely end his days in a nursing home for the permanently bewildered.

Reportedly, Mr Trump was thrown out of a republican party meeting and a number of republicans have gone public rejecting him and all his divisive policies.
Last I heard his membership of the republican party was cancelled and the supreme court his ordered that he cannot run for public office. He is also facing both bankruptcy and some real jail time for tax fraud/tax avoidance on a biblical scale. Take note that I said it and when. He will never ever become MR president ever again. His last term in office was a disaster and only a tiny minority of shite for brains will vote for him if he ever nominated again. Alan B. Posted by Alan B., Monday, 12 February 2024 11:32:12 AM

Alan B,
Who do you think should be the next US president? Posted by JF Aus, Monday, 12 February 2024 3:36:51 PM

Alan,
Going on about what a grub Trump is makes Biden no less a grub nor less demented, much as you might want it to. Biden is considered to be cognitively impaired to an extent that he is unfit to stand trial. The Democrats did not challenge the decision not to prosecute, and in defending his mental competency Biden forgot where his Rosary beads came from and mixed up Egypt and Mexico. The Democrats need to stop this disgusting abuse of a demented old man. Americans won't vote for a goo-goo man no matter how hard the lie of his competence gets pushed, and that lie will be even harder to hide as his decline is accelerating. Whatever or whoever puts the Woke & Lefties & Democrats & other parasites out of action is what's needed. At this stage it looks like Trump can save us from the insanity.

Biden vs Trump 2024: where does Australia stand? . I guess the answer to that is Australia stands on the sidelines as a bemused, confused and somewhat anxious observer. The main concern with Biden is his age. He will be 86 at the end of his presidency if elected – the oldest president ever in the history of the United States. Ronald Reagan, the second oldest president, was not quite 78 at the end of his two terms. Trump seems to be more the problem than the solution. He too would become the oldest president ever at the end of his second term if elected. He was born in June 1946. Trump is a notorious authoritarian narcissist, a pathological liar, and acts like an elephant in a china shop. He knows no limits. He incited his followers to the insurrection of January 6 on the Capitol, declaring : “Now it is up to Congress to confront this egregious assault on our democracy, and after this, we're going to walk down — and I'll be there with you — we're going to walk down ... to the Capitol …” But, instead of “walking down – to the Capitol", he was whisked off by Secret Service agents to the White House and watched it all on television. A crowd of about 10,000 marched on the Capitol. Over 1,230 were charged with federal crimes, including many of the leaders of the Proud Boys movement. About 730 pleaded guilty to charges, while another 170 were also convicted. Trump has blocked financial and military aid to Ukraine and threatened to encourage Russia to attack NATO countries that fail to pay 2% of GDP for their defence. He also ordered the Republican members of Congress to vote against the bipartisan bill they negotiated with the Democrats to control immigration at the Mexican border – so that he could blame Biden for failing to stop it. Unfortunately, beggars can’t be choosers. We’ll just have to pay allegiance to whoever comes out of the urn and do our best to adapt – whatever the price ! . My personal preference is that neither Biden nor Trump be allowed to run in 2024. Trump is a buffoon and Biden is an old man with a failing memory.
"In August 2021, President Biden hit an inflexion point, shifting from net positive to net negative in his approval rating — and he has never recovered. Ominously, he passed what looks to be another inflexion point in November, definitively falling behind Donald Trump in the ballot test. And he might not recover from that either. Despite the noise, the battle for the presidency in 2024 has followed a fairly simple incumbent-challenger dynamic, if impeded somewhat by Trump’s unpopularity. The sitting president started out with a strong inaugural “honeymoon” polling bounce, which degraded over time as challenges to the president naturally created division and disappointment. That said, this is not a typical race, with a former president with over 90 criminal charges running and an incumbent president whose polling has had an almost unbroken collapse, with little improvement. The approval and ballot test polling have been fairly stable — the politics may be roiling, but the voters are moving at a glacial pace. Dear Foxy,
Should Trump be elected, Australia can forget about any American support, also about participating in an attempt to save Taiwan. That stretcher is just too heavy for Australia to carry alone. So while Australia could [for now] be saved from being at war with China, and while we cannot save the country of Taiwan from evil China, the least we could and should do, is to save Taiwanese people from Chinese tyranny by accepting and welcoming many of them as refugees. That is relatively cheaper, both economically and blood-wise, than a war with China. Posted by Yuyutsu, Tuesday, 13 February 2024 1:02:05 PM

In my nonexpert opinion Biden is suffering from Alzheimers.
I have watched a relative decline from this terrible disease. It is his confusion that confirms it for me. It is cruel to push him out in front of the cameras as they do every day. If there is elder abuse law in the US then those managing him should be charged. The people behind him should be charged for insurrection for seizing power in an illegal manner. All laws passed over his deterioration could be challenged on grounds of their manipulation. Someone going down this way is easily manipulated and guided in any direction. They will ask if they can have a drink of water ! I feel like crying when I see his confusion. Its bloody cruel ! Posted by Bezza, Tuesday, 13 February 2024 10:08:02 PM

40% of Americans (including 70% of Republicans) believe the 2020 presidency was stolen ! . The Mayflower landing in Plymouth on 18 December 1620 with 78 Pilgrims and a couple of dozen Puritans on board has left its trace – and not just because of Thanksgiving and turkeys. According to a 2022 Gallup poll, 81% of Americans believe there is a God, and a 2023 CNN poll found that 40% of Americans (including 70% of Republicans) believe that Trump’s 2020 presidential election was stolen from him. The fact is there were over 60 court cases where judges, including judges appointed by President Trump and other Republican presidents, looked at the evidence in many cases and said there was no widespread fraud. Some were withdrawn by the Trump team before the courts ever ruled on them or they were dismissed on procedural grounds. But others were decided on their merits. But as Trump, himself, may well have said : “Facts don't count. It's what people believe are the facts that counts". And, as we all know, today's descendants of those Pilgrims and Puritans on the Mayflower when it landed in Plymouth in 1620 are among some of the greatest believers in the world : The facts don't count. It's what people believe are the facts that counts. That surely must be one of the greatest wonders in today's modern, scientific world of Artificial Intelligence and space travel. WOW ! . Here is an interesting insight into Trump’s religious beliefs and practices. I find it quite enlightening. I think you will too : http://edition.cnn.com/2016/10/21/politics/trump-religion-gospel/index.html . Posted by Banjo Paterson, Wednesday, 14 February 2024 3:50:39 AM

Do you see Bazz? People seem oblivious to the crime of unelected people exercising presidential power through a demented President. The only response seems to be, "Well, Trump, Trump, Trump, Trump, Trump, Trump....", as if by this chant all of Biden's mortal foibles will be cleansed. I don't think Biden as demented as some of his supporters.

You make a very good point though Bazz. It is likely that Biden's staff are as much against the cognitive test as Biden himself as it allows them to continue with their criminal conduct. With a cognitive test the undemocratic and unlawful control of the Presidency would end quickly.

Same here. And we had better hope that Trump is the next American president. We cannot depend on our rubbish politicians to save us from Communist China or very much at all.
