We definitely should be talking about immigration. The Australian political class is addicted to this lazy way of increasing economic growth, which makes us all poorer per head. Population growth accounted for 85% economic growth in 2023. The highest on record.

But, Australians were almost $8,000 poorer per capita because of it.

However, the talking has to be done by voters to politicians, and there is not much chance of that happening.

As for importing votes in their hundreds of thousands that too was under Morrison. You see only those who are granted citizenship can vote. And the only time that has gone over 200,000 was in the 2019-20 year, smack bang under Morrison. It certainly didn't reach those heights under Labor, even in the last financial year.

But the most concerning thing for you has been the calamitous drop in education export dollars, you know, the money coming into the country through educating foreign students.

It went from over $40 billion dollars in 2019 to just $22 billion in 2021. It climbed to $26 billion in 2022 and hopefully for you and the sake of your benefits it will get back to the previous levels.

What a Karen of a post.

Hasbeen and I have been exchanging pleasantries well before you joined the forum. If you look back over many threads you will find he often pops up in order to have a go at one of my posts as his first contribution.

Admittedly it has become quite formulaic between us, but there is little doubt Hasbeen has had a jab with the expectation that he would be get one back.

I find it both nostalgic and a little endearing, and kind of miss it if he isn't trying to have a nip. He may well be the same but if he doesn't all he has to do is tell me and it would be sorted.

But if you find it distressing then just move on. This is an anonymous forum and one would be pretty silly to think there is any real skin being taken off with some lightweight shearing shed banter.
