Clearly NYT considers HKOPS not fit to print or endorse. And how does that become at its peril? The 2-state solution is the only game in town with a snowflakes chance in hell of success and an end to the endless bloodshed.

Land occupied 3,000 years ago cannot be reclaimed. Otherwise, the Turks should leave old Constantinople, to be re-occupied by the dispossessed Christians, the English out of Northern Island etc.

I could go on and on like Mr Singer, but it'd be just as pointless as Don Quixote tilting at windmills.

Flogging a dead horse will never ever make get up and run! Nor solve any conflict or end the endless bloodshed.

You state: "Land occupied 3,000 years ago cannot be reclaimed."

The League of Nations disagreed with you in unanimously recognising the historical connection of the Jewish people with Palestine and to the grounds for reconstituting their national home in that country.

The United Nations disagreed with you when inserting article 80 into the United Nations Charter to preserve that right given to the Jewish people by the League of Nations Mandate for Palestine - which had not been fulfilled when the League of Nations was closed down in 1945.

A one off and ratified in 67. But that was all you got from the UN legally.

It never ever agreed to HKOPS and neither did Biden who like the UN still supports a 2-state solution.

What's your beef with that and a negotiated border.

Hands back the illegal settlements and any further illegal land grabs perhaps?

You state:

1. "A one off and ratified in 67. But that was all you got from the UN legally."

What Israel got from the UN was Resolution 242 that does not require Israel to withdraw from all the territory it captured from Jordan in the Six Day War. The PLO insist on total withdrawal. That is why the two-state solution can never be achieved. Israel is not prepared to commit suicide. The PLO is not prepared to change its 'all or nothing' policy.

HKOPS on the other hand divides sovereignty in the West Bank between Israel and the newly-created HKOP. That is why HKOPS can achieve an end to the conflict that the 2 state solution has failed to achieve in the 43 years since it was first proposed by the Venice Declaration.

2. "It never ever agreed to HKOPS and neither did Biden who like the UN still supports a 2-state solution.

What's your beef with that and a negotiated border."

My beef with the UN is its continuing refusal to consider HKOPS as an alternative solution to the failed two-state solution - which only ensures the conflict will be continued - not resolved. The UN exists to prevent conflict - not perpetuate it.

Biden still clings to the 2016 UN two state solution - because he and Obama were personally responsible for it's creation by not vetoing UNSCR 2334. However indications are that Biden is ready to change his view if Israel and Saudi Arabia can agree on a different solution. HKOPS trashes UNSCR 2334 and could be what Israel and Saudi Arabia are talking about right now.

3. "Hands back the illegal settlements and any further illegal land grabs perhaps?"

The settlements are legal under articles 6 and 25 of the League of Nations Mandate for Palestine - preserved by article 80 of the UN Charter. Israel is legally in possession of Area C in the West Bank under the Oslo Accords.

The league of nations was a US UK led entity.
It's judgements and conclusions would have been kicked out had the real truth been presented.
So basing present day realities on a flawed League of Nations determination is meaningless.
The Palestinians were never meant to serve the Israeli entity as fish in a barrel, to be humiliated and shot as opportunity presented itself.
The Nazis exterminated on mass over a short period of time whereas the Israelis are doing the same over a longer time period.
The Nazis used Jewish to it's own end no different to the Israelis using the Palestinians.

Where is the difference? Extermination is extermination and truth is a mere convenience to those who deny it.
The US and UK know what is happening but choose to ignore it otherwise they would be held responsible for creating it in the first place.
The Palestinians will eventually rise and the rest of the world, led by US and UK, will say just as they did with Nazi Germany
"WE DIDN"T KNOW"
But the Chinese know the West's double standards, it from first hand experience and that's their advantage.
The West taught them well, too well

Dear Special Delivery,

You seem to be new to this weekly thread:
the others know already, so I thought I should warn you as well that you are not responding to a human but to an automated series of articles and comments by an AI robot.

If you want to comment about Israel and the Middle-East, this would therefore be a poor place to post in, plus it only helps the corporation which created that "David Singer" robot to improve their algorithm.
