I don't know if this analysis is credible. People may have become accustomed to keeping their real views to themselves. The disgruntled Russian opposition may be a lot larger than assumed.

Personally, I believe Putin has quite massively over-reached and the Russian people are paying with a dramatic economic downturn and reduced circumstances. Putin is skating on very thin ice and has sealed his fate.

A smart man would step down now and retire to his country estate. Failing that, he may not get much older and his personal real estate permanently reduced to 6x4x4 feet. I would advise the first (smart man) option while it still remains!

If it were a person who had lived in Russia and mixed with ordinary people, the best that can be said is that he/she must have been blind ,deaf and dumb. My personal experience is that Putin enjoys an extraordinary level of popular support that Biden,Truss and all can only dream about.

I think that Putin's popularity is not a dream
but a nightmare for most Russian people. Especially
the young who have access to technology and get
the truth - instead of what's being fed on the
