Political parties will die on Saturday : Comments

By Everald Compton, published 20/5/2022

Election 2022 will result in Australians choosing a minority ALP Government. Many Independents will be elected and the Greens will enhance their numbers.

While the Libs will probably lose Boothby, it's unlikely to go to an independent - the ALP have been campaigning very hard in that seat.
As for the rest, I really don't want to hazard a guess. But hung parliaments are generally a good thing, as governments are forced to justify every decision they make.
I don't think political parties will die tomorrow (except maybe the Australian Democrats again) but it will be interesting to see the Libs try to recover they're dealt the heavy blow they deserve. They may develop policies that meet the approval of most of this board, then after a second wipeout, develop more sensible policies.

We must give Everald Compton some credit, the guy was reasonably close to the mark in some of his predictions.

Was a bit tough working in the Brisbane rain for the GREENS yesterday, however a good result, my mate Bernard increased the GREEN's vote by about 25%. with the tpp margin down to around 53/47% in Bonner it will now be considered a marginal LNP seat for next time. Great bunch of folk at the local polling booth from all parties ALP, LNP, ON, UAP and the Greens. Very nice caramel slices supplied by the lady from One Nation, were they made to Pauline's secret recipe, bad politics, but makes great caramel slices, with coffee (a socialist handout) compliments of the LNP people, can't ask for more.

And that party surely is the right wing conservatives who tried to win by sliding in on the coattails of small L liberals who are the moderate middle of the coalition. Albeit, you might be forgiven for thinking they were just pretend small L liberal moderates given the way they supported the coalition as it moved further and further to the right.

Barnaby crossed the floor time and again in support of his convictions and stood almost alone as a conviction politician, who stood for "family values" and Christian morality. Little wonder his face is so red.

Saturday confirmed a landslide loss for the coalition and should sound the death knell for those on the extreme right wing (neo Nazis) who pretended to be aligned with the moderate middle to gain power! Their only real goal! Saturday should confirm they and their ilk are finished and as it should be. Given what we face in the future and will need bipartisan cooperation and cooperative capitalism to save our debt laden economy and our most prosperous future!

Look back on my previous comments to understand, I called it, as I do for the best way forward!

the extreme right wing (neo Nazis)
Alan B,
Were you move in everyday people circles you'd find that the neo Nazis are mainly made up of failed University protester crowds on welfare , extreme Left would be a closer match ! Their female allies, the femmo nazis are the ones who bestowed PC upon society.
The extreme Right are the overly conservative who don't mind having welfare support to compensate their failings !
