UN abandons moral compass in waging semantic warfare on Israel : Comments

By David Singer, published 14/12/2021

The UN continues to lose its credibility, neutrality and impartiality as it and its officials use language and terminology which is antithetical to seeking an end to the Arab-Jewish conflict.

Now who is using semantics.

An inaccuracy, the dispute between the Arabs and Jews goes back before
the foundation of Islam at least more than 1500 years. Muhommad and
other Arabs were bandits attacking Jewish villages in Arabia.
After the Arabs invaded Mesopotamia and Israel they continued their
opposition to Israel which is shown by its presence in the Koran.
My knowledge of that particular history is not very substantial but
the general gist of it is close enough.

Dear Bazz,

So why rely on something you don't know?

The prophet Saint Muhammad (peace be upon him) had nothing to do with the Koran - a fake book written some 160 years after his death. He was never a bandit nor participated in any wars, be it against Jews or anyone else.

Tribal disputes were the norm of those times. Arab tribes against other Arab tribes, Arab tribes against Jewish tribes and Jewish tribes against other Jewish tribes. This even included the warrior Jewish queen, Dahiya al Kahina, who in the 7th century led her Jewish tribe to conquer what is now Morocco.

These tribes no longer exist. Some transformed, some merged, some became extinct, others converted. Their primitive barbaric wars and territorial claims mean nothing today.

During the last 3000 years, different parts of Israel changed hands perhaps 20 times. The author only wishes to remember a particular span of no more than 100 years, when the kingdom called "Israel" (little to do with today's modern Israel, its people or their religion) expanded to its maximal ever size under the terror regime of kings David and Solomon, that same dynasty which altered significant portions of the Bible to glorify their name, cover their corruption and belittle their predecessors. When Solomon finally died, that kingdom broke into Judea in the south (with Jerusalem as capital) and Israel in the north (larger in area).

This author repeatedly, since 2008, talks over these pages of some imaginary dispute between "Arabs" and "Jews", which presumably needs to be "resolved", yet he keeps refusing to define either, keeping the names meaninglessly fluid because he knows well that neither represents a solid lasting entity.

Anyway, today, as much as the author hates it, the land of Israel belongs to this new people, the Israelis, who built it, fought for it and revived the Hebrew culture, relying on their own arms and wits rather than on chattering UN idiots - and not to some "Jews" who sit safely and comfortably in Melbourne and try to order everyone in the Middle-East to follow their whimsical dictates.

Remembering in 2020-2021 David Singer supported Trump's outrageous "Vote Was Stolen" claims. Singer forgot Trump's extreme rightwing support base hate Jews.

Here are Trump's opinions on Jews, Trump ranted, 17 December 2021 http://www.aol.com/news/trump-bandies-anti-semitic-tropes-224031640.html

"Trump Bandies About Anti-Semitic Tropes In Interview With Israeli Reporter"

[Trump parroted the prejudice] Jewish people supposedly control global politics and culture at the expense of non-Jews is a common, centuries-old anti-Semitic trope.

“Unholy” host Jonathan Freedland said Trump’s comments were rife with “classic anti-Semitic tropes” and “a whole lot of negative stereotypes about Jews.”

“This is the guy who, after white supremacists went on the march in Charlottesville, said there were ‘very fine people on both sides,’” Freedland said.

Anti-Defamation League CEO Jonathan Greenblatt summed it up neatly, saying on CNN Trump’s comments “fall somewhere between stunning and stupid.”"

From an Israeli human rights organisation.

"On Sunday, 10 October 2021, at around 3:30 A.M., dozens of soldiers raided an apartment building that belongs to the extended Da'na family. The building is home to 102 members of the family, including 52 minors. It lies in the al-Harika neighborhood of Hebron and is surrounded by a fence separating it from the settlement of Kiryat Arba.

The soldiers entered all 12 apartments in the building, woke every family and searched the premises. They attacked one of the family members , Muhammad (28). They also searched the yard and then brought Muhammad and his brother Yazid (29) into it, handcuffed and blindfolded. After the search, the soldiers led the families to the diwan (guest hall) in the yard. When some of the children asked to go to the bathroom, soldiers led them into the apartments unaccompanied by an adult from their family. Only the grandparents – Nu'man (78) and Samiha (69) – were allowed to stay home.

The soldiers held the entire extended family in the diwan until 8:30 A.M. and then left, taking Yazid Da'na with them. He was held in custody for 10 days and released without charges after paying a NIS 1,500 (~475 UDS) bail. After the sleepless night, the children did not go to school and the adults lost a day's work.

A month earlier, on 3 September 2021, soldiers were filmed entering the building in the evening, instructing the parents to gather all the children on a balcony, and photographing them on the grounds they had thrown stones at soldiers. After photographing the children, the soldiers left.

...

Military incursions in the dead of night into Palestinians' homes have long since become part of the routine the occupation regime imposes in the West Bank. Soldiers enter homes, wake up entire families including children and babies, vandalize their belongings, and strew chaos in and around the house. The families are left stunned and terrified in a ransacked home, after a sleepless night. These incursions utterly ignore the privacy of the families and the disruption to their lives."
