Abdullah-Biden meeting will not help resolve Jewish-Arab conflict : Comments

By David Singer, published 15/7/2021

The meeting between Jordan's King Abdullah and President Biden at the White House on 19 July seems set to achieve absolutely nothing towards resolving the 100 years-old conflict between Jews and Arabs.

Should anybody anywhere give a toss about vague lines representing borders, drawn across rolling sand dunes David.

Maybe on those mystical desert nights under a full moon, you should conjure up the ghost of An-Nasir Salah ad-Din Yusuf ibn Ayyub . Right there is a hint to reality, and the politics of the ME to this day, an unchanged dynamic.

Nobody can know in advance what might help and what influence can be brought to bear to resurrect the two-state solution. Which still remains the only viable solution in play!

"Abdullah will continue to hide behind the two-state solution in his meeting with Biden."

Yes, a wise king, he cares for his own people - not for Churchill, Arafat or the United Nations.

Meanwhile the Zionists have no intention of creating two states - they never did in fact. Such a scenario is now completely impossible due to the now well established "settler" invasion.

Two references which I came across recently, references which describe two of the ways in which the Zionist takeover is accomplished and facilitated.

Yuyutsu,
Are his people deserving of being cared for ?

Dear Daffy,

It is not right to put all "Zionists" in the same basket - there is such variety among them.
What more, not all Israelis are Zionists.

Yes, Israel got itself into a difficult situation where it cannot do anything about the settler invasion, certainly not during the next 4 years where the diverse new coalition agreed to keep the status-quo in territorial matters so it can concentrate on internal matters that are more important for Israel at the moment.

Had it been up to me, I would withdraw the Israeli army and all other Israeli public institutions from the West Bank (including Eastern Jerusalem), financially compensate those Israelis who are willing to leave and return to Israel, then shut the border tight and allow the West-Bank "settlers" and "Palestinians" to deal with each other, whatever the outcome be.

Dear Individual,

«Are his people deserving of being cared for ?»

Well the same could be asked about Australians,
I guess some of us are more deserving than others...

But I wonder, what have you against the Jordanian people?
Has any of them perhaps wronged you personally in any way?
