Why the NRL should let Izzy Folau play football : Comments

By David Pellowe, published 26/3/2021

The decimated ratings and revenues of American sports codes which have embraced political virtue-signalling is evidence of the truism, 'go woke: go broke'.

SR we pay the ABC employees, yes remember they are employees. We are entitled to set the limits of their behavior while employed, ie. on air, or writing for the air.

They can do what ever the hell they like, just as Folau should be able to do, in their own time.

Of course I would not expect you as a radical lefty to understand such a principle.

Hi Hasbeen,

Folau broke his contract, that's why he got fired.
Now it's up to the NRL whether they will let
Folau play football and under what terms. My
guess is - they probably will. But we'll have to
wait and see.

Dear Hasbeen,

That is good to hear. However in another thread titled “Good Enough for the BBC, Good Enough for the ABC” you wrote:

"With the ridiculous money we pay B & C graders at the ABC we should be able to dictate which side of the bed they sleep on."

The BBC have instituted the following:

“The BBC said it had considered impartiality in the context of public expressions of opinion, taking part in campaigns and participating in marches or protests. The new guidance on social media will apply to staff whether they are using online platforms professionally or personally.”

I take it you don't think this should be applied to ABC employees given you opined the following: “They can do what ever the hell they like, just as Folau should be able to do, in their own time. Of course I would not expect you as a radical lefty to understand such a principle.”

Or are you struggling with the principle?

Foxy,

Why are we wasting our time discussing Folau when we could be discussing this guy:

While he is serving time he could brush up on LNP etiquette and when he is released he could run in an LNP seat for Federal MP. Might even get pre-selection for Soot's seat of Cook - The Shire, God's country, birthplace of Australia, home of the Sharks.

Today's LNP has so much to offer a person of his talents.
