Is Premier Dan Andrews Australia's most dangerous man? : Comments

By Ken Phillips, published 18/2/2021

The first lockdown, lasting 112 days in 2020 and costing 801 lives resulted directly from disastrously incompetent mismanagement of hotel quarantine by the government.

Considering that Juliar Gillard took nearly 3 years to kill 1200 people, Chairman Dan killing 800 in just a few months boosts him to the top way past Ivan Mallat or all the Muslim Jihadis put together.

Andrews certainly is a dangerous man - too dangerous to be in politics at least. His arrogant stupidity and draconian dictatorship have seen Victoria become the most dangerous state: a place to be avoided at all costs.

Oh FFS, the attacks on Andrews are really getting out of hand.

Scott Morrison in June was advising against a lockdown and saying Australians were going to have to live with the virus. In anyone's language except from those on the far right the threat Morrison posses is far greater than any Premier. Australia would look far different now with thousands of victims to the pandemic if Morrison had got his way.

The majority of Victorians think Andrews has done a pretty solid job under the circumstances. They acknowledge the flaws but we have been grateful he has been in charge.

Andrews also has displayed his disgraceful attitude to the rule of law this country is rightly proud of with his comments on the clearing of George Pell after the bungling of his mate Ashton's police force. Yes. Andrews is a very dangerous man; not a fit and proper person to be in politics, let alone Premier of a state.

No, it's folks like the author who speak from too low down and know SFA about epidemiology? Hotel quarantine was never going to work, given they as a general rule, are insufficiently ventilated!?

The staff and security come and go and could be going to the local pub to de-stress etc. Where they then share the highly contagious infection with dozens of others? And given the location, in our most densely populated areas!

We beat the Spanish flu by eliminating it via our offshore island quarantine stations and good personal hygiene! Not through widespread vaccinations!

Given the way this highly contagious killer virus is mutating into more virulent strains. Island quarantine needs to be once again activated to ensure all those infected or inward bound? Spend as much as a month in such splendid isolation. In places like Kangaroo island, Rottnest etc.

Where we can put a field hospital that is fit for purpose! And where staff stay to transition through another staff only island quarantine, until they are themselves negative triple-tested and also safe amoung the general population!

This is just not an old person's disease, but, one where young folk can get sick, without becoming visibly symptomatic! Yet suffer a lifetime of deleterious consequences!

This lassi fare approach by numerous learn on the job, personalities needs to end, as does the patent politicisation of a killer pandemic!

Just don't do something that's already proven totally effective, stand there, duck shoving blame!
