Yes, some of Islam's values are incompatible with ours, most are very similar to ours and a few are in some ways very arguably superior to ours. Much the same can be said of all cultures. The generous and intelligent approach is to look for our similarities and to avoid getting hung up on our differences. You should try it. You might actually find you become a much happier person!

Many Muslims would regard this statement as a very sick joke. For decades now, most of them have lived with the consequences of Western imperialist invasion and military domination. Many still live with the daily threat of American drones and bombing raids. They've lost loved ones and had their lives ruined because of our desire to dominate their land and exploit their resources. And how many Westerners living in the Middle East bother to integrate? Just look at Iraq's Green Zone as a prime example of absolutely nil attempt to live with the locals.

I'm no big fan of Islam. Nor am I a fan of Christianity. Or any other religion for that matter. In my view they're all as seriously flawed as each other. But I do live by the words of Christianity's figurehead which exhort Christians to "love thy neighbour as thyself". I'm guessing, LEGO, that you imagine yourself to be a pretty good Christian. Well, you certainly fail big time to live up to this very basic tenet of Christianity.

Not that you in any way need nor seek my approval on anything but I will remark I like the cut of your jib on this one.

Bronwyn, Spain, Bosnia, India/Pakistan, do I need to go further to prove that Islam & any reasonable, & particularly western culture are totally incomparable. It is shear idiocy to bring any Muslims into a western society. Even after centuries it blows up.

A few years ago now my son was walking home from the train station in Alawa Sydney, when a car with 4 Muslims pulled up & attacked him. This was another area they wanted to cleanse for themselves exclusively.

His head was fractured in 3 places, & if a couple of cars had not stopped & people from put these curs to flight, he would have definitely been maimed.

I can see absolutely no reason why we should ever help these types of people, or allow them to remain in our country. They are total garbage & fit only to lick the boots of real people.

Back to the original suggestion. Very little is known about the shadowy figure of Lord Palmerston, so I having done the "research" on Palmy, and unfortunately Palmy fails to pass the pub test..., not even after my tenth schooner for the night did Palmy pass! Aided by my drinking mates Bluey and Dave O', using the google search, we uncovered the fact that Lord Palmerston's only claim to fame is, he was the inventor of "Palmerston Cheese", yes that smelly obnoxious, pathetic excuse for a cheese Italians like to put on their Spag Balls and Spaghetti. In 1935 Palmy tried to have his lousy cheese renamed "Coon" without success! Due to the fact Australia was a racially free and politically correct country in 1935. I ask, who wants Australia's finest city named after a racists smelly cheese maker?

In case you haven't noticed, the leftards complaint is precisely that the Caucasians did exterminate the native Australians, who need special consideration in billions of dollars of one-way donations from the Caucasians for the Aborigines, to even hope to be equal, and even then complain it doesn't work.
