I think that the real challenge is to get over this obsession with growth: more money for billionaires, more people to help them get it.

Getting on the 'gender diversity' bandwagon is just an attempt to appear to be 'nice'.

If they are really serious about having good aussie companies, they need to put big tariffs on imports and reduce immigration level like everyone wants them to do.

I worked temp for a large transnational company several years ago and the management was implementing gender diversity etc.

Absolutely hopeless because the company had no one on board who was a sociologist, anthropologist, etc. They were just all engineers, accountants, business types, etc. who didn't have a clue about anything but their jobs and sports.

But that didn't stop the senior managers raving on about how they had all the answers to topics that even sociologists and anthropologists find problematic.

Talk about the blind leading the blind.

We're where we are today because the old boy's club ran the joint and resist/resisted change as if it were a personal death sentence!

Many of the lesser minds in this old boy's club would die in a ditch first, before accepting change/reform!? And allowed by less competent fund managers acting for their members!

The very next GM's need to see the recalcitrant boards ejected as a root and branch clean up! Otherwise, very little of moment changes!

These guys are a central part of the problem and also need to clean u their act! Otherwise, the more savvy members are going to start voting with their feet!

Tariffs will just make our situation worse. What we need is the world's cheapest energy and coupled to cooperative capitalism to make products that more than compete in the global market place!

Moreover, co-ops stood alone as the only private enterprise, free market, business model that survived the Grea Depression, largely intact!

Your simple-minded recipe has been tried and turned a manageable recession, into the Great Depression, Genius!

Suggest in future you comment on stuff you actually understand! Know something about! Instead of SFA.

Also, suggest you engage brain before putting mouth into gear. Further, better you remain silent and have the world merely suspect you're a fool, than open it to remove all doubt.
