But, putting the nonsense aside, Ellen is still Ellen and the female she was born. We can't stop cranks being cranks, but we don't have to encourage them. A big yawn and indifference to the posturing and attention seeking is the way to go. There is more than enough serious stuff going on in the world to drown out sad nutters.

Frankly, I don't care if people who love their dogs, want to call themselves Fido or Spot. Who the hell else has to care about how a person described him/herself ? Why should they HAVE to care ?

If people want to dress up, that's their business, not necessarily anybody else's. If they want to change their name, that's their business.
