The actor formerly known as Ellen Page : Comments

By Tim O'Hare, published 8/12/2020

If you did not access celebrity news, in time, you might come to wonder just what happened to that promising young actress that had a breakout performance in 'Hard Candy'.

Hi Diver Dan,

I'm dreadfully sorry, but I think you missed the point - that nobody SHOULD have to give a stuff. There shouldn't be any laws compelling anybody to defer to someone else's idiocies. including this silly girl's.

More power to Elliott Page say I and without reservation.

The film/movie Hard Candy is one of my favorite films, along with the wickedly funny film/movie Unbound starring Jennifer Tilly and Gina Gershon.

The Hard Candy misogynist creep gets his necessary karmic comeuppance - even voluntarily!

Meanwhile the average American well-adjusted child sees 4000 murders on TV by the time they have finished elementary school, and 18,000 by the time they are 18.
Many/most boys and teenagers spend many hours playing violence saturated video games many of which are deeply and violently misogynistic. They also have easy access to deeply misogynist pornography.

Even the dominant religious cult, namely christian-ism celebrates the brutal torture and murder of the loving God-Man as "good news"

In dreadfully sane christian America all of this seems to be perfectly normal and yet when someone (especially someone who identified as a woman) decides to "come out" as it were the entire moral order of American culture is supposedly going to collapse.

Duck,

Good luck to them, whatever they choose, but they can't expect anybody else to give a toss.

I'd like to ANNOUNCE that I'm a MAN coming out as a MAN.

To paraphrase http://www.smh.com.au/culture/celebrity/actor-formerly-known-as-ellen-page-announces-he-is-transgender-20201202-p56jqz.html

"I am NOT inspired by the Gender community and DON'T thank all"

"I love that I am STILL the same," I DON'T write.

"And I love that I am NOT queer. And the more I hold ONTO MY EQUIPMENT and fully embrace who I am

the more I will do for the world to remain the SAME for MEN who REMAIN MEN and WOMEN

who REMAIN WOMEN and UNaturally

SPERMaphrodites."

For me, the author has not quite the right point of attack.

To be sure, the piety and revisionism of the trans lobby is entirely fair game. Being trans is not a declaration of some special insight or wisdom.

Bruce Jenner was the most annoying bloke at Montreal Olympics. Caitlyn Jenner is just as irritating. Australia has similar examples - notably a certain cricket tragic.

Nevertheless, being trans is a real thing. Page would not have done what he's done, just for fun. Also, as far as we know, he does not seem to have been totally insensitive to the resounding impact on family and friends.
