Biden's victory: a eunuch presidency beckons : Comments

By Binoy Kampmark, published 10/11/2020

A Joe Biden presidency promises to be a return, not a progression. But a glance at the US electoral map suggests no easy pathway to political amnesia.

There is a god.........

I think not.

1) POTUS may win the vote in PA when the matter goes to SCOTUS, after all, PA broke its own laws in accepting mail-in votes after 3 Nov if they were postmarked before 3 Nov when its own law requires mail-in votes to be RECEIVED by 3 Nov.

2) Up until late 2019 HRC kept telling the handful who'd listen, via the lamestream media that Biden should not concede the 2016 result under ANY circumstances. That is nearly 4 years after DJT won, the ratbags are still crying foul. And now they seek to inhibit DJT's right to go to court?

3) Even if DJT loses in court, the GOP will keep the Senate and won seats in the House. Hardly a repudiation of Trumpism;

4) If DJT loses in court, he will present himself as a candidate to run for 2024 and there is nobody in the GOP who has his appeal to a wide array of voters;

5) Of course if the establishment within the GOP push for their candidate (in the mould of a "traditional" conservative) and succeed in that push, DJT could easily scuttle a GOP win by running as an Independent.

So, no ateday, Trumpism is here to stay and the Don is not out the door, he's just out for a round of golf. He'll be back.

Hey Banjo Patterson and plantagenet

"It could be that 'sleepy old Joe' may well be just the right man in the right place at the right time. The 'old sage' may have just what is needed to 'rectify' the hate and division fuelled by the cynic and impetuous Donald Trump."

I don't necessarily see things the same way.
When you say 'rectify the hate and division' - that's not how I see it.

The Democractic Party themselves sow the hate and division by deliberately standing on the identity politics platform of Race, Gender, Ethnicity, Sexuality.

They deliberately play up these divisions for the power they can take for themselves, and really they are the party of the elites, big business and the bankers, not necessarily the the minorities they claim to represent.

Dear Armchair Critic,

You could be right, Armchair Critic. By that token, if you are looking for scapegoats, there are plenty around to choose from. Why not the Republican Party as well for example ? They seem to have the ear of the President. Then there’s the Ku Klux Klan, the White Supremacists, the Black Lives Matter, the Evangelicals, the Extreme Right, the Extreme Left and a whole lot of others, including the Proud Boys and the mysterious QAnon movement …

Many of these organisations and movements look to Donald Trump as their political guru and supreme leader and, apparently, he does nothing to disown or discourage them in any way. He even seems to inspire some of them and play into their hands – so long as they are heading in the direction he wants them to, of course (“Stand back and stand by” Trump said when asked to condemn white supremacy during the debate with “sleepy old Joe” : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8Z9Kqhrh5c – go to 1:04:00).

Personally, I think it is criminal for these pullulating subcultures to take advantage of the narcissistic megalomaniac disorder of the President to authenticate and promote their pernicious, obscurantist ideas :
