But he was never defrocked or even demoted.

So he is still officially a "Prince of the Church" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prince_of_the_Church

You should pay homage to him - as you should to all Cardinals and the Pope.

By all means kiss their rings.

But beware - at the Vatican's Cardinal changeroom - don't bend over for dropped soap.
