Trump Mapping Committee needs to break its deafening silence : Comments

By David Singer, published 24/8/2020

Peace between Jews and Arabs after 100 years of unresolved conflict - promised with President Trump's release of his deal of the century on 28 January - has stalled - with the continuing failure to produce a map.

Much easier to turn to the books of Daniel and Ezekiel, with a smattering of the Apocalypse of John, and awaited the rising of the anti-Christ, than hope for Peace at the hands of Israelis. (Number one),

And number two; peace from the PLO which I can't get past, Arafat and Idi Amin and its Marxists upbringing, bringing along with it a coalition of left leaning Western Governments with similar traits, negotiating with the Anti-Christ Uncle Donald.

I think the good Uncle is pragmatic enough to know it just ain't gunna work.

"The Committee needs to break its deafening silence to confirm that Trump's vision is geographically achievable - not simply a shimmering mirage."
Rarely do I agree with David Singer, but on this occasion I suspect he is right on the money.
Trump is just hoping his plan will get him the Jewish vote in the coming election, but it will backfire and that will serve him right.

It is heartening to see Israeli foreign policy, as communicated through David, is becoming more even-handed. Even-handed in criticising the Trump Administration's distracted and thin policy framework toward Israel-West Bank.

This is the first sign of Israeli "hedging" ie. Israel is showing it is flexible enough to contemplate a Biden win in the Presidency. A Biden Administration would be sure to have its own interpretation of Trump's "deal of the century".

Israel is but a minor concern for Trump Administration at present. The reason for this is that Trump's daughter's husband, Jared Kushner, is the main foreign policymaker concerning Israel. see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jared_Kushner#Middle_East_peace_plan

Kushner is naturally preoccupied with the Re-Election campaign of his father-in-law as President. In this sense Israel is an afterthought.

Perhaps the deal maker could sell Australia to the Palistinians for a proverbial song, so that they can have a homeland to replace the one stolen from them by outside forces, disposing of the spoils of war?

I mean, what's legitimate ownership got to do wih it, got to do with it?

Imagine, David, that the great exodus by God's chosen poeple was just another lie by land thieves extrodinare?

To give legitimatimacy to their original, this land is mine, God gave this land to me, acquisitions? And continued on as they sort to expand previously purloined land, robbed by former slaves, where they stood, from former masters? In a mau mau style rebellion and bloodletting? And given the emerging archological evidence! A very persuasive theory indeed!

Trump may need more than the powerful monied Jewish diaspora to save his hide come November, may need more than a Postmaster General sabotaging the mail system and may need more than diabolically disingenuous wordsmiths/birds of a feather, to get him over the hump as the truth emerges from his own family?

Should he fail in November, London to a brick, this pussy-grabbing misogynist may do time for tax evasion a la, Al Capone? All White?

The whole issue has dragged on and been unresolved and unresolvable for a century. President upon president have tried and failed.

Trump gets the closest of any of them and now has Israeli and Arab in discussion and in partnership.

Yet since he hasn't solved a century old problem in 6 months, its claimed he's failed.

Great analysis there.

Meanwhile in Gaza a Palestinian child whispers to his mother in fear "Mum, Hide Me! I'm Scared!" as Israeli warplanes bomb this besieged country for 9th consecutive night.

Dear mhaze,

Damn my friend you really are an apologist for all and sundry at the moment aren't you. Why link to a piece of propaganda lovingly stitched together so lovingly by those who wish to be absolved of the sin of 'mowing the grass' when the mood suits them?

Look at the title "Palestinian Kindergarten Children Taught To Kill and Kidnap Jews".

No they weren't. In one very real sense they we celebrating those who stand and fight against the occupation of their country. It is rightly disturbing. Although unlikely to be indicative of every kindergarten in Gaza it is the product of a hyper-militerised society enduring incredible stress and trauma in trying to hold on to a small piece of land without brutal occupying forces on every corner.

Oh my apologise SR. I was just trying to help you out. I know how scrupulously even-handed you are and that only being able to post pro-Palestinian propaganda must have left you mortified.

So I thought I help you out by showing the other-side of the issue, which I'm sure is what you really long for.

Golda Meir: " "When peace comes we will perhaps in time be able to forgive the Arabs for killing our sons, but it will be harder for us to forgive them for having forced us to kill their sons. Peace will come when the Arabs will love their children more than they hate us."

By those criteria, peace is a long way off.

Dear mhaze,

You wrote; “So I thought I help you out by showing the other-side of the issue, which I'm sure is what you really long for.”

No, the other side of the issue would have been to show Israeli children crouched in fear because of the incendiary balloons being released by some groups in Gaza.

However balloon vs fighter jets carrying 500lb JADAM bombs doesn't seem that rosy a picture to paint does it.

As to Meir's quote it might just as well be written; "When peace comes we will perhaps in time be able to forgive the Israelis for killing our sons, but it will be harder for us to forgive them for having forced us to kill their sons. Peace will come when the Israelis will love their children more than they want to dispossess us of our land."

The fact that hundreds of thousands of Israeli settlers drag their families into a militarised occupation zone in order to thieve more land off the Palestinian people shows less regard for the safety of their children than tit does for hyper-Zionism.

Australia use to recognise who were the under dogs in any scrap and show our support. Much of that has dissipated as our fawning over your president increases. This really isn't who we are and thankfully some of us are waking up.

Oh, my mistake. So you don't want to show both sides?

"Australia use to recognise who were the under dogs in any scrap and show our support. "

Yes that's why Australia generally sides with Israel. But I don't think that started with Trump. Its been going on for several decades.
I think your TDS is showing.

OTOH, if the Palestinians really wanted to keep their children safe, they'd stop launching missiles, mortars, balloons and suicide bombers from Gaza into Israel and thus prompting retaliation. If they got on with creating prosperity for their state rather than trying to win an ideological war on behalf of Tehran, their kids would be a whole lot better off now and into the future.

Dear mhaze,

Oh FFS. How on earth are you deeming there is any equivalence in this?

For the last 50 years the Palestinians haven't occupied great swathes of Israel, imposed a brutal blockade of millions of its citizens, imprisoned, killed, tortured and maimed tens of thousands of Israelis.

Israel has used highly sophisticated weaponry given to them by the US to slaughter thousands on a regular basis. The Palestinians have used home made munitions to defend themselves and their land.

The Davids in this story are the Palestinians, not their brutal occupiers.

So 'if the Israelis really wanted to keep their children safe, they'd stop launching missiles, mortars, tank rounds, high explosive bombs and sniper fire into Palestine. They would stop brutalising and killing those they have occupied. They would stop moving their citizens into the occupied territories, an act which is contrary to international law and UN resolutions.

And I haven't once mentioned your president so why bring him into our conversation and run the inane TDS flag up the pole yet again?

http://www.btselem.org/routine_founded_on_violence/20200820_soldiers_assault_mutasem_qawasmeh_at_checkpoint_near_hebron

“The soldier who had Qawasmeh’s wallet asked in Hebrew: “What is this”? When Qawasmeh could not reply in Hebrew, he swore at him and kicked him in the ribs and abdomen. Another soldier joined in, and together they swore at Qawasmeh and kicked him again. When he fell down, they demanded he get up. When he could not get up, three of the soldiers pounced on him, hitting him with the butts of their rifles and kicking his back. When Qawasmeh’s friends tried to turn around to see what was happening to him, the soldier who was guarding them pushed them with the butt of his rifle and forbade them from turning.”

I can see that you are very passionate in your hatred of Israel and that its left you incapable of ration discussion, so I'll leave you to it.

Dear mhaze,

So I did. My apologies. It wasn't on my original document so I have obviously added it prior to posting. I am getting old it seems.

You write: "I can see that you are very passionate in your hatred of Israel and that its left you incapable of ration discussion"

I don't hate Israel rather I hate the treatment of Palestinians by the current, demonstrably corrupt, brutish, Israeli government. The fact that you can't see the difference is an indictment on you my friend.

You have seemingly lost that Australian-ness that I hold in high regard, being able to recognise and call out bullies. Only the most jaundiced would deem Israel the victim here.

Bidyah, Salfit District: Settlers stone Palestinians out strolling, fire shots nearby and threaten to kill villagers who dare return
Majdi

Issa and I.A. from Bidyah wanted to go for a stroll in an open area that locals use for leisure and picnics. The area, known as Khallet Hassan and Khalayel Bidyah, lies about a kilometer and a half north of the village.

On the evening of 30 June 2020, at around 8:00 P.M., the two men, who are in their fifties, drove into the area. About seven armed settlers who were there started approaching the car from some 70 meters away. When they were about 50 meters away, the settlers started firing shots in the air. As the car is not equipped for off-road driving, the two men left it and tried to escape on foot.

The settlers chased 'Issa and I.A., firing shots in the air and at the ground by their feet. They caught up with their victims after about 100 meters and started beating them. When one of the settlers put a gun to ‘Issa’s head and the latter tried to push it away, he fired a shot near his ear. The settlers asked the two men what they were doing there and what they do for a living, and then grabbed them by the shirts and led them forcefully back to the car. On the way, one of the settlers fired several shots close to the two men. Before the settlers left, they warned the two to never come back and ordered them to spread the word in the village: settlers will shoot any Palestinian who dares visit Khallet Hassan and Khalayel Bidyah.
