Making incentives work : Comments

By David Leyonhjelm, published 20/8/2020

Self-interest is simply a reflection of incentives. If you have a secure income you can afford to worry about your health.

Sex is the primary human motivator, let's not forget. And as a consequence, families of humans naturally appear. To some, that's a surprising consequence.

At that point of the intersection between fantasy and reality, a new dawn arises.
A bingo moment.

So it's quite simple for Governing bodies to control outcomes for themselves by manipulation.
Attend to the desperate, and prioritise the degree of desperation based on numbers effected, and votes to be won or lost.

Since the Labor Party are the collectors of desperadoes, let them worry about the down trodden, while the Liberals get on and do what they do, look after the wealthy class who need the least help, but tend to gain the most from Political interference in the natural course of life.

The Morrison government has certainly failed the China virus "challenge", wrecking the economy, and snuffing out democracy and basic human rights. If Andrews is anything to go by, Labor would have been even worse - the whole country would be like the failed state of Victoria. Australian politicians are simply rubbish. Their "we are all in this together" is a blatant lie. Politicians lose nothing. Public servants have actually increased in numbers, and many of them have received pay rises since Morrison put hundreds of thousands of people in the private sector out of work!

In SA, fellow Australians cannot enter our state, but the Liberal government is preparing to bring in 300 Chinese fee-paying students. The shifty Health Minister will not even admit that they will be Chinese, humming and haaing when asked where the students were coming from, and stuttering that their 'port of departure' would be Singapore!

Australians don't want "incentives"; they want politicians who do not mimic Communist Chinese Party dictators.

You two ever look at yourselves ?
Does it ever occur to you that you might be worse than the govt you constantly blame ?
Imagine just for a moment how things would be if you were in charge, do you really think they'd be better ?
You have the privilege of tunnel vision whereas a PM has to look at everything from people such as yourselves to those citizens worse than you.
Considering the sabotage morrison has to cope with, I think he's doing ok even with the deadwood in his own outfit.

"Stockholm Syndrome" is emerging as the latest description for silly, weak Australians, clinging to poor quality politicians who are abusing them and acting like dictators.

How many thousand was that from China virus, again? You know, the thing our "betters" are emoting about and closing down the economy and democratic process over.

A recovery or health? We could do both? And we could! First of all we need the blood test that gets a result in twenty minutes. To ensure only the non-infected get on to worksites!

The infected need to be quarantined in offshore quarantine station to prevent non-compliant cohorts from weaponising the virus? I believe there is such a cohort of Asymptomatic carriers?

Then there are a number of quite massive projects that would virtually self-fund, A very fast (faster than any commercial jet) VLT on the Eastern seaboard, would be my first cab off of the rank, via a mile wide resumed corridor!

Resumed with no beg your pardons to current holders. Who would recieve current unimproved value. Then the land along sections of the corridor rezoned as urban and the real estate sold overtime to put the ledger back in the black.

Would need the reserve bank as the lender and at no interest Given it's our bank and we can choose to charge ourselves more than is needed for the projects, just so we can make them more expensive than they need be.

Second would be MSR thorium and all of it financed with the money (annual billions) we'd earn as a world repositorty for the world nuclear waste, which we would first process it through MSR technology to extract the remaining recoverable 95-98% unused energy quotient!

Giving ourselves virtually free power as the first intended consequence and nuclear waste that is far less toxic And a reduced to around 300 years half-life! Furthermore in complete (walk away safe) safety!

Use that almost free power, among other things, to desalinate seawater, with four times less expensive deionisation dialysis desalination which removes more than just salt ions and delivers 95% recovered as potable water, cheap enough to make it cost-effective (proven) for broad scale irrigation!

Moreover some of that seawater could be channelled to where it's needed as a ever reliable water source!

Any Galah can prattle on about alternatives, or demand and supply,
further divide a nation and win the spoils of defeat, David!
