As for anti-Chinese sentiments being expressed in this
country. That is wrong. Blaming people who have been
part and parcel of this country for decades. People
of any ethnic group - is and should not be - acceptable
behaviour. And needs to be called out.

We are all part of the human race, and none of us are
perfect or superior - contrary to what some of us may
believe.

I live in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne which holds
a large Chinese population. They have raised the bar in
our local high schools, our shopping centres and in
our residential and commercial developments. Including
the prices of our homes. Our medical facilities, and aged
care and retirement homes,
have Chinese professionals on the staff
who are very caring and efficient. We couldn't be happier.

We wouldn't live any where else.

Another thought.

Looking back in the days when we were a manufacturing
country and producing what we needed - seems like
only yesterday. And it's all gone down the gurgler
and are we the better for it?

Perhaps, we should seriously look at our future and
do something about it. Buying cheaper products from
overseas - is not always a better option.

Would it matter to the One Nation types on this thread if the "Australian man" was ethnic Chinese or Caucasian?

To the ABC "Australian man" or "Aussie" could be anyone who has spent ten minutes in Australia. Whoever this drug smuggler is, he is getting what he deserves.Nobody should be concerned about his ethnicity or his death sentence.

This case has been reported in several newspapers.

It seems that the man's name is Cam Gillespie and
I suspect he's been in Australia for more that a
few minutes as some have suggested.

There's also another bloke who's been arrested (in 2015)
Peter Gardner - who got caught out with his then girlfriend
Kalynda Davis, with 30kg of meth (ice) worth $20 million.

Both mean have death sentences hanging over their heads.
