The demise of Australia’s public broadcaster into 'their scary ABC' : Comments

By Charles Essery, published 20/5/2020

I now watch SBS (and Sky and international channels) more these days than the ABC because it aims to operate by its charter.

had any Indigenous women crapping on whities lately on the abc? This virtue signalling mob are really quite disgusting. Certainly would not want your kids being brainwashed by Marxist rubbish.

Dear runner,

I understand why you would be so aggrieved by the ABC as they highlighted widespread abuse of Australian children including so many indigenous kids in care by members of your faith.

They moved past the veil of silence society had placed over the abuse and exposed those wrong doings ultimately leading to Royal Commission.

The Church has suffered a huge drop in respect as a result and I know this would be sticking in your craw.

Well let's hope people like you do not succeed in diminishing the effectiveness and independence of the ABC so it can keep doing the excellent work it does.

Four Corners in generally a top rate show. That is why it rates well in current affairs terms.

other good shows ABC and SBS, Foreign Correspondent, Dateline, Insight.

ABC radio also has some good shows spread throughout the week.

Aspley... you have cracked a mystery for me... I had assumed Steelrednuts and atebay et al are thinking beings,.... then I thought they must be trolls/bots... but they are in fact just simple narrow minded racists... They hate Essery's comments because he came from the UK...

Now their abuse makes so much sense... if he was female, colored, of transgender's tendency and an immigrant from anywhere other than the UK he would be OK...

Shame is these knit wits don't realize he comes from Belfast, the city that they probably gave money to in those hip bars that allowed IRA supporters to "fund the cause' to kill innocents and the British troops and police who tried to hold the piece..

What plonkers they are..

Oh Steelie I am surprised with your moral base that you even call kiddie fixing wrong.

A very well researched, written and clear summation of the unconscionable fare being presented to the Australian public. Unconscionable? Because it is repeatedly in breach of the ‘charter’ under which it was established. Privatisation (user pays) is the only rational corrective action I can think of at this point in time.
