Dumping on South Australia's First Nations : Comments

By Jim Green and Michele Madigan, published 14/2/2020

Shamefully, the federal government has decided to move ahead despite the unanimous opposition of the Barngarla Traditional Owners, native title holders over the area.

Landowners with freehold title can sell the land for whatever purpose they wish. If say the farmer wanted to sell the land for a go-kart track it would be bizarre if outside people could veto it by claiming a tenuous but undocumented connection to ancestral land use 200 or more years ago. I suggest nuclear opponents possibly not of aboriginal descent are in a snit because they didn't have the sway they had over the Muckaty and Hawker groups, both of whom coincidentally used the term 'sickness country'.

I think central Eyre Peninsula is a good choice for a couple of reasons. The limit for wheat farming (Goyders Line) is retreating and they need new industry. Secondly if Australia ever gets high level nuclear waste it will have to be in the Woomera Prohibited Area. Kimba present a beeline to the WPA. Ironically the casks at Lucas Heights near Sydney seem to raise less concern than when relocated to Eyre Peninsula. All in all it's a good move.

Why pickout just Barngarla Traditional Owners, whom most of us in South Australia have never even heard of? If ever there was a good place for a waste nuclear depository, it is Kimba, its only claim to fame being the Big Galah.

There are probably a lot of "shameful" things the limp-wristed Marshall government has done, but deciding to establish a nuclear storage facility in one of the most forlorn, unattractive places in the state is not one of them.

Not a single Bungarian voted for it? There are no figures on that. Greeny Green doesn't present any. The Bungarians held their own poll, reportedly. The Leftist Broadcasting Corporation reports that 60% of locals voted FOR the establishment of the facility. In a democracy, that's good enough for a go-ahead. The population of Kimba, like that of many country towns, is falling. Like all country towns, It needs all the help it can get.

The less than impressive SA government must ignore the politics of race and do what is right for Kimba, the state and the country. There would not be a better place anywhere in the country to store nuclear waste. The objectors, aka, original owners, are not making any contribution to our well being and prosperity.

I tire of this anti-nuclear activism by folk who impose their BS humbug views on alleged traditional owners and jerk their strings to get an imposed from the outside outcome!?

If any of these BSing humbuging anti-nuclear zealots were genuinely concerned for the welfare of first Australians?

They would propose we erect/build serval waste burning MSR's and reduce the half-life of all nuclear waste to just 300 years, and a thoroughly sanitised product, eminently suitable as long-life space batteries.

Batteries that power the satellites that allow folk in our outback to take and receive phone calls and or watch Friday night footy, etc.

Time for these activists to stop dumping their idiotic, anti-nuclear, ideological, imperatives on our first people and in this action deprive them of the annual millions they could very safely earn, risk-free, from leased back to government, native title land

Could be conditional on the building of the proposed waste burning technology and the permanent high tech training facilities and high tech jobs that'd be a permanent feature of allowing sanity, rather than BS and anti-nuclear humbug to decide outcomes!

Where's the money coming from to build these unconventional, unpressurised Molten salt, nuclear waste burning reactors? (MSR)

Well, if we are but intelligently led by genuine leaders, we could earn annual billions from a proposed nuclear waste dump!

And before final burial burn out of it the huge remaining unspent energy and if done as proposed power this nation with the world's cheapest power in complete walk-away safety.

Time we stood up on our hind legs and demanded we stopped being continually ripped off by the power authorities and their acquiescent pollies! Time we had a power source that'd all but force manufacturing to restart and or relocate here!

Incidentally. smelting recycled metal consumes significantly less energy than making it from the ore!

And produce a final and energy depleted product that is then eminently suitable as long -life space batteries, that burn up with reentry.

Of all the methods we have of generating electricity nuclear power as gigawatts generated has a lower death toll record than even renewables.

Go to Facebook and Alan Goulding's page for evidence and graphs presented in an interesting informative video.

And take in the three others if you choose on, four minutes on thorium, the afterlife and a music video by an astonishing 80 something singer. Enjoy!

SA has the highest unemployment and the most expensive electricity of any state. It gets nearly 50% of its electricity from gas fields that have been exploited for half a century and may not have a lot more to give. It is also radio-isotope central with Olympic Dam the world's biggest uranium deposit and Maralinga and Emu which had A-bomb tests. If anywhere in the world can store radioactive waste it is SA. Successive premiers seem unable to grasp this so perhaps the antis have won.

Currently, the entire world is desperately short of the final reprocessed product that is the space batteries material!

{ And I forgot to put my comments on recycled metal in these]

And then you would have understood I was not suggesting recycled steel and aluminium were not being proposed as long life space batteries just the final energy depleted material from waste burning MSR.

Geen greenie Green seems to not want carbon-free dispatchable power and in that anti-nuclear stance absolutely serves the interest of the current coal industry and coal-fired power generation?

How dumb would that be?

Thre are only economic upsides for the economy and the environment writ large in my suggestions!

I also agree with Alan's proposition.
What I vehemently reject and disagree with is the notion that one particular group of people "own or owned" Australia, is abhorrent and disingenuous and extremely inflammatory and divisive.
The group in question have admitted, and are on record, and history has told us that they did/do not own anything.
They never did, they were nomadic, they were seen to be surprised when the poms landed and traded some trinkets and items for the "purchase' of this country, only as a gesture.
WE have OWNED this country from the day the original poms took it in the name of Queen Victoria, and that is the truth, so any shmuck trying to tell me that the blacks own anything but their loin cloth and spears is a blatant liar and moron who for some reason has decided to reject the truth about who actually owns this country, and I'll give you a hint; it's NOT THE BLACKS!
I don't question WHY some bastards sold us out, because I know, they got sh!t loads of money (millions) and to hell with the rest of us and the truth.
Anyway the soft cocks and the neuters out there have brought Australia down to it's knees and are still actively engaged in doing more damage thanks to scum bags like politicians.
I will rest happily in the knowledge that what I say is true and will have to settle for the hope that one day like minded people will form some kind of a group and begin to re-align history back to it's truthful and proper direction.

Can't help you with your phishing Galen! Suggest you try all the Alan Gouldings and settle for the one sharing the posted videos. Others don't seem to have your particular obsession/need to know!

Atrave. While one can agree with some of your commentary, your anti-black rhetoric assists nobody nor any logical outcome!

And made redundant by the native title act which is now fact of life and gives some first Australians, power to prevent projects. In which case they should no longer receive any financial assistance as government benefits or pensions. Ditto the rent-a-crowd trying to be the tail that wags the dog and or, covertly assist the multimillion-dollar coal industry.

An industry going bankrupt in the US because their NG is cheaper than coal. and as it should be when energy industries are allowed to compete for market share without price gouging or sector prohibitions on the alleged, free market! And indigenous energy products reserved for the domestic market by economic sanity!

Does anyone understand why spent rods are first suspended in water for some months before they are placed in storage?

Well, it's because they are oo hot, radioactively speaking and water stops gamma radiation in its tracks and why any reactor I proposed would have an all incompassing water jacket to shield the operators and the populace. Enjoy the videos

The Australian fear of anything nuclear is really pathetic : no nuclear power, no nuclear waste facility, no nuclear submarines. Like coal, we have plenty of uranium. It is OK to export coal and uranium, but we must not use it ourselves - dear me no!

Now, people who know what they are talking about are saying that the idiotic French submarine deal should be scrapped. It's a total cock up, like buying a fleet of Tesla cars for the government fleet and replacing the electric motor with a diesel one. And, it now seems that very little work will be done on craft in Australia after all.

Mad Max Green says that he is embarrassed to be Australian because people don't accept his theories and girly-boy fears ('General Discussion, Friday 14th. February). He is embarrassing himself, as are our politicians, who won't make use of the cleanest power source available; a plentiful source, and the only source, that will get Australia back on track economically and militarily in the face of the Chinese Communist Party menace.

ALAN, I get your point, but I will NEVER get that the blacks own or are entitled to ownership of ANY part of Australia.
The whole concept of FIRST NATION or FIRST AUSTRALIANS, is one of the biggest illegal concepts I have heard of, and that of course encompasses NATIVE TITLE.
What an illegal rort or con-job.
I hope one day we will discover who is making all the millions out of all this massive injustice.
Too bad we won't be around to take back our rightfull tenure over OUR country.
The blacks have NO more right to this land than we all do.
If there are truly people other than black who are OK with this land grab and effectively dividing and isolating the whites from THEIR homelands and heritage then they have a vested interest and should be physically attacked with prejudice.
Why are some black guys memories and relationship to this place any more valid than mine?
I was born here, like them, grew up here, like them, have memories and all the interactions that they have had whilst living here.
They say they have sacred sites, so do we, churches, mosques, etc.
Australians are just too frustrating and ignorant to be of any use to themselves, let alone their own flesh and blood, but they are quick to give away another persons rights even that of their own family for the sake of not being virtue shamed.
There are a lot of words that describe this new Aussie; gutless, ignorant, easily shamed, un-informed, mis-informed, and the list just goes on.
Our ancestors are going to look back on this period as one of great shame, and in a state of second class citizen.
All because we have such piss-weak people and more so politicians who have sold us all out for a few shillings.

Altrav: My white ancestor came with the second fleet and in chains. escaped and lived with the blacks for a spell and started my ancestral line.

I don't agree folk who could neither read nor write, lived nomadic lifestyles because that is how they survived, and therefore, weren't able to sell the indigenous birthrights of a nation!

Suggest we agree to disagree agreeably and sort out any perceived difference like grown adults. OK mate? And please don't shout, I'm not deaf.

MSR is inherently safe enough to put in any suburban backyard, could be mine!

Only mountains of fearmongering BS and abysmally ignorant or vested interest by our alleged leaders, who shine with gutless indecision and complete lack of wisdom/future vision.

Everything currently exported as energy products can be replaced as reticulated electrical energy transmitted via (superconductor) graphene cored cables to whoever wants it and at prices, nobody but nobody can get beneath.

Even then return handsome profits from the sheer massive volume we could do if we ut had a party and a leader with vision.

That vision would also deploy a fraction of this generate energy to power several dozen commercial-scale deionisation dialysis desalination plants and with that guaranteed inexhaustible water supply, drought-proof the nation and all our future food production and exports!

The lowest solar voltaic has ever achieved with massive economies of scale has been 5 cents PKWH. And only during daylight hours its shortcoming!

MSR and with nuclear waste as the preferred fuel choice would get it below 1 cent. Thorium? Below 3 cents!

All our shipping could be powered by SMR As Thorium MSR and steam venturis! And sail the oceans at fifty+ knots, for the economic life of any vessel without ever needing to refuel! Or ever emit so much as a single gram of carbon!

If I was the Fed Govt. I'd bring in small mobile nuclear power plants without telling the Sheeple.
Start pushing power through the wires & send out survey questionaires. I'd ask people if they want nuclear or not. Those in the affirmative will get cheap power & those against it can source it from their "renewables" !
Problem solved !

Alan you just seem to think you are the genius but alas no! You post identically as one Alan Goulding in the Ambit Gambit section so a two year old could work it out.

As to you maintaining privacy, electronically today there is no such thing. By the way, looking back on your history of mostly banal, monotonous, monotone, repetitive posts, you have told everybody in great detail about your family, life (whether real or imagined) I can’t fathom your sudden need for secrecy or privacy as you call it.

Put up the link or don’t direct people to a site which is not directly identifiable. As to the notion no one else is having trouble finding it, that’s because no one else has bothered to look.

Galen: No problem mate. Just post your personal details here,i.e., email addy and current location, nationality and given no personally perceived malicious malevolent intent, may choose to oblige you. However, your last post indicates your interest is anything but curiosity but rather an incredibly clumsy attempt to shut me down or shut me up on my advocacy for MSR thorium and nuclear waste burning MSR!?

And ain't going to happen! As for my intelligence, my final passing marks in my medical finals broke a record which had stood I was informed for seventy years.

And supported by two IQ tests that were well above average. Not ashamed of the gifts I was given by my ancestors or genes!

Moreover, I pound on about the referred to the topic because I clearly unlike you give a rat's about my fellow Australian. As for my remarks about my lineage, I am supported by relevant court documents and records.

I, for one, am pleased to see that the govt has moved to do something.
As for any concern for the "traditional owners", I personally have NONE, and with justification.
The blacks are nothing more than transients, they themselves admit to rejecting the idea of "ownership", of anything.
So it goes that if they did not believe in owning anything then, logically they CANNOT be traditional owners.
So I and about another 25 million Aussies would demand not saying that they are or ever were.
It's just another white fella scam which happens to ingratiate the black fella's and another way of the white man to siphon money out of our piggy bank.
Another gripe I have, is this BS that white man has done all this bad stuff to the blacks.
BULLSH!TE!
The blacks should be kissing our feet for landing here and should be celebrating Australia Day as the day they began to live and prosper.
Not give us the sh!ts with lie's and BS about how we,..........I don't actually know what the hell we were accused of, or did bad to them, that was so bad as to give us all the BS over Australia Day.
No they should be grateful to us for turning their pathetic useless lives around and dragging them into a better more prosperous and fulfilled lifestyle.
Instead what do we get?
A bunch of ungrateful backward thinking, selfish, arrogant, demanding lot of self ingratiating, no-hopers, who see themselves as the entitled ones.
The only ones who have actually got off their arses and attempted to do something with their lives are the ones who are not blacks but of mixed blood.
And I don't care who dares decry the fact that these mixed bloods can be grateful to their European parent for their sudden advancement into a higher level of learning, and therefore a higher level of living standards into the twenty first century.
NOT the pure bloods, because the true, and only, Australian Aborigine will be extinct, unless the PURE BLOODS couple up and keep the race alive.

It wasn't that long ago that we were being told that original Australian aborigines had no concept of ownership: that they believed that they belonged to the land. Now, we are hearing that they own the joint; that they were 'nations; that they weren't hunter-gatherers, but sophisticated townies with governmental expertise and agriculture far superior to that of white settlers, who covered up the original brilliant civilisation to enable settlement of the land.

Incidentally, if you are interested in an antidote to Bruce Pascoe's fantasy, get hold of Peter O'Brien's 'Bitter Harvest' to learn how Pascoe misrepresented early explorers' journals, left inconvenient parts out, quoted people who NEVER PUBLISHED anything, and lied to suit his fantasy.

ttbn, good to hear somebody else telling it like it is.
I don't get as to who chooses what is history and what is not.
Who chooses what is right and what is wrong.
I'm sick of these bastards in high places either doing the bidding of some sick son's of bitches or just plain greedy self imposed dictators pushing laws and rules that are in their own interests, and not in ours.
I keep dreaming of a 'hit squad' that is completely hidden and carries out scum-bag cleansing, in the way we have seen ethnic cleansing in the past, like the Rothschilds and the Bilderberg group, as the first and most important target.
As far back as I can remember, my life here has been one hell of a struggle only to look back and see that ALL my successes have been off-shore.
Australia just kept me and any other forward thinking innovators down to the point of thinking this place is full of lazy idiots, with no self respect or self worth.
Certainly no inner courage, as to be told what to do and how to think, with the only thing they know is to fear the system.
Where-as I challenge it, question it, to no avail.
Try and find an Ombudsman these days?
Good luck!
Anyway check out the story below it is further reinforcement of the evil plans these bastards have in store for us.
