What a peculiar, and poorly written article. I really can't grasp what the author's point is.

You want to see where the poor are treated badly go to India. Hinduism has the untouchables. The Government would rather they die of poverty than be helped by Christians. Look what countries are targets for millions of refugees and you will realise that these countries are not nearly as bad as lefties want to make out. You don't see the poor lining up to get into China, Iran, Venezula or North Korea. I wonder why!

Dear Runner,
«Hinduism has the untouchables» That used to be a feature of Indian culture, not of Hindu religion. Following Mahatma Gandhi, hopefully it is gone for good. As for America, their generosity is quite a fact which ought to be acknowledged, but they also flooded the world with junk: junk food, junk technology (now taken over by China) and junk entertainment that promotes violence. America is also a scary, violent place with police brutality and the highest rates of incarceration in the world. Posted by Yuyutsu, Friday, 18 October 2019 3:48:06 PM

'That used to be a feature of Indian culture, not of Hindu reli'
Yuyutsu as long as people believe in the lie of reincarnation the logical follow on is that people who previously lived 'good' lives will be rewarded in the next and vice versa for those living the bad life will be punished in the next great discrimination will take place. I know several people from India who tell me the class system is well and truely in place. The current nationalist Hindu government has cut off much aid to the poorest of Indian people because they are frightened that people will leave HInduism and turn to a merciful God and receive forgiveness of their sins and eternal life through Jesus Christ. This is a reality in 2019. Posted by runner, Friday, 18 October 2019 4:23:10 PM

runner is at it again, claiming his, brain-washed from birth belief, has a greater foundation in fact than the much older Hinduism!
If it's correct, the bible claims to reach unto the kingdom of heaven ye must be born again. In Hindu tradition, it's said the same. Just with more agains in their belief. Now there is some credible evidence for the belief in reincarnation and none for resurrection, other than the written word, which may have been misinterpreted by control freaks, from original teachings, which include, so as you sow, so also will you reap,i.e.Karma! There are a couple of recent cases that provide credible evidence for reincarnation! The first being a young Aussie injure and in an enduring years-long coma with brain trauma. Woke several years later able to speak fluent Mandarin the hardest language to learn for English speaking Europeans! And this young man was never ever in this lifetime exposed to Mandarin or Mandarin speakers! So, that being the case and he not learning that language in this lifetime! In what lifetime did he learn it, runner.? There's much more unexplainable phenomena, only able to be explained by literal reincarnation, such as another man waking from an enduring coma being able to play the piano, although he'd never ever owned a piano or taken any music lessons EVER! My bet is, this brainwashed difference hater, will as is his want! Simply ignore any inconvenient facts that contradict what he chooses to believe! Given anything else would make him into a servant of Satan and doing the devil's bidding, spreading hate against all else at every opportunity! Don't take my word for it, go back to the archives and read what he has written! It's laced with chosen hate against difference! And completely bereft of a single, do unto others, Christian sentiment! Alan B. Posted by Alan B., Friday, 18 October 2019 5:17:04 PM

Some of the nicest folks I know and some of my best mates are septic tanks.
One cannot should not, judge a people race of country by the actions of their leaders, even highly flawed ones Or the world's greatest Assholes!? Alan B. Posted by Alan B., Friday, 18 October 2019 5:21:27 PM

Dear Runner,
When one understands the reality of reincarnation, surely they cannot rationally think: "only others have incarnated, but I am the exception". Knowing that one's positive actions produce positive experiences while one's negative actions produce negative experiences, surely one would do what they can to treat others well as they would like to be treated themselves in this as well as in their next lives. Just as it is irrational to think of oneself as an exception, it is also irrational to think that something that one already did in the past could only be done once. If you can climb a particular flight of stairs once, then why wouldn't you be able to climb it again? If you entered (more precisely, associated with) a human body once, then why not again? « they are frightened that people will leave HInduism and turn to a merciful God and receive forgiveness of their sins and eternal life through Jesus Christ.» You are probably referring to the poor people of Kerala: they are being offered food and cash for conversion to Christianity, but have they actually turned to God through Jesus Christ (which would be wonderful), or have they only been pragmatic and just worship their own empty stomachs? I'm think I'm really starting to have a dislike towards Christians.
I'm sick of people that think they have some kind of superior moral belief system, when they lack real wisdom and ethics. 'Anti-Americanism' The whole idea is completely retarded; Anti-your own country. - I know I'm going to cop it for bringing this up. - It sounded like some kind of 'Anti-Semitic' ideology. So obviously I had to look it up: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Josef_Joffe 'Polish born Jew, went to Harvard, publisher/editor for a weekly German newspaper.' What is this guys opinion supposed to mean to me other than what a regular American themselves thinks? The quoted ideology is of Jews promoting their own ideology upon sovereign nation states. This ideology is Anti-Democratic and I'll tell you why. As citizens of democratic nations we have a RIGHT and a DUTY to criticise our governments, and hold them to account. The government is not separate to the people. Under democracy, we the people ARE the government. I can criticise any damn government on the planet I like; - providing there is a basis of merit - And I damn well will criticise the United States of America: Claims it supports democracy, but doesn't respect the democracy of other peoples nations; Occupies other nations illegally under flimsy contexts of wars that it itself creates. Uses economic terrorism to collectively punish entire nations of people and has created more refugees than any other nation. Talks about human rights, but allies itself with nations known for committing human rights abuses, as well as committing its own. Speaks out against the taking of political prisoners, but is happy to take political prisoners of its own to cover up its own criminal activities. I don't support any of that crap. Bad things happen when good people do (and say) nothing. I'm my own person, entitled to think for myself and express my own opinions, and you have no right whatsoever to tell me I can't. AC
We certainly do not live in a perfect world, that is which that matches the inconsistency of human behaviour. Governments are quite accidental unruly behemoths, of which we as individuals, are but the macro element, without the power to expand influence over its direction if flawed with a faulty democracy. Now what does America look like? Dan Posted by diver dan, Monday, 21 October 2019 7:59:44 AM

Today is the end result of all that went before it....and so too is every individual.
As I go through life I find that it's not necessary to believe in extraneous concepts as everything is a preferred point of view. No one is really looking for the 'truth' but merely seeking a reason, or justification, to believe what they choose to believe. Personally I adopt the attitude that all things are possible and don't concern myself in trying to prove one thing or another. Injustices will always be part of humanity because humanity itself is still merely a concept, a political construct for all to rally around. An illusion there to serve the disillusioned. 'If', the biggest word with a mere two letters, family principles were extended to society at large we would have a society with a common goal. Mono cultures have a greater chance of maintaining these values and therefore be a far more stable society. Those communities, country's that were created with a political end in mind will always be in conflict and I speak of the colonies where self determination was disrupted and elements foreign were inserted into the prevailing social fabric of that society, Australia, US, Canada, Central and South America, Mexico, Hong Kong, Africa all in the name of profit through conquest and subjugation. Since the invading armies of the Romans, whose roads can still be traveled on today, can you see where an invading force gave something back to the vanquished, and I mean vanquished not privileged. The worst case being the decimation of Iraq, where the world stood back and did nothing, although some did belly ache quietly.....I didn't see any sanctions then, or since, and justice has been on a holiday since... No! we are the end result....so rejoice in what you've worked so hard at ignoring, and stop bitching when the consequences of having no principles smacks you in the face. Hate is merely a distraction....a total waste of energy that blinds the individual Posted by Special Delivery, Monday, 21 October 2019 9:25:26 PM

Special Delivery,
You mention Rome and colonisation, but you fail to mention the ongoing historical invasions and conquests of the Muslims and the Ottoman Empire. The Ottoman Empire Marched a million people, mostly Christians out into the desert and left them there to die without food or water. Their bones can still be found there today. Caliphates were set up by the invading Muslims in Syria and the Middle East in the 1800’s. In 1850, massacres and genocides were carried out by the Muslims on the people in Damascus and Aleppo. The muslims also took over Northern Africa in earlier centuries. They killed thousands of Africans and enslaved the rest. What about the invasion of China by Japan in the years leading up to World War 2? It is estimated they killed 9 million Chinese. And yet it is Htler that gets all the publicity for the millions he killed. Well, Japan and the muslims have an equally bloody history. One historical account estimated the number killed by the Muslims during their centuries of conquest in the Mediterranean and the Middle East is estimated at 250,000,000. People are ignorant of these facts of history, because of the Hollywood movies constant focus on World War 2 movies. So these other cultures and their bloody genocides are allowed to sneak under the radar. . Posted by CHERFUL, Tuesday, 22 October 2019 8:30:39 PM

I wasn't aware this was a contest of who killed the most
I was talking about social responsibility Who knows WTF you're talking about, other than Muslims and Japanese Posted by Special Delivery, Wednesday, 23 October 2019 7:23:52 AM

It also means that more than half do. Funny how people view and slant figures to suit their agendas. The 42% haters would be 'large' minority if the Great Satan is involved, but a small minority when comes to a vote against same sex marriage.
I'll bet the 42% America-haters are happy to accept aid and protection from the US for their poxy countries. I'm so glad Donald Trump intends to turn off the tap.
This Lefty Anglican decided to mention Australias 'evil' past, too. I think we can guess where he is coming from.
As a pacifist able to enjoy that absurdly impractical belief, thanks mainly to America, he should pull his head and ponder how pacifists were fare in a world without America. Particularly Christians. And he needs to be quick about it.
